Can't find his twitter or if he has a rating. But he did have some nice stats this season as he had 7 sacks

an interesting twist. the article says he isn't currently rated, so he was off everybody's radar. the article also said with his commitment, 3* Bell decided not to visit. Bell was a quality DE who was committed to WKU that Brohm was trying to flip. And Parks and Craft left to make room for Him? I would have thought if Brohm signed another DE, it would have been Arak.

he must surely have something no scouting service or other Division 1 power 5 program has seen? A true hidden nugget. I'm intrigued, but his commitment raises a lot of questions about other players that I thought were higher priorities and targets.

McDuffie has academic hurdles ahead of him. Marks is moving inside to play DT in college and he's a mid-year enrollee.

I've read that. I've also read Brohm wants to add both Taylor and Moore, a RB and a TE, and he went after Israel , so I suspect he wants another DB too. Based on Mark's other offers, and Brohm's other targets, this was not the first commitment I expected this weekend.

let it set in, Brohm basically chose Marks over better known/scouted recruits Bell. McDuffie and Parks. That's pretty high praise for a player who was previously unranked, and not heavily recruited. He's definitely a future DT. And maybe that's what Brohm wanted.

I can't really criticize Brohm or Marks. But his commitment is a surprise.

I'd anticipate adding three to five more.

Brohm has really wanted to get after the trenches. The mid-year can be a big deal and I'm sure it was in this case. It also allows him to regroup after grades come out for current players and those who want to leave become official possibly allowing for an additional offer.

Just blows my mind thinking about being barely 18 and making a decision mid December where I’m going to spend the next four years, maybe at a place I wasn’t even sure I’d get an offer from until recently, half way across the country, and showing up on campus and starting classes a few weeks later in January. Nature of the business I suppose!

I would agree! Yesterday he's attending classes , going to a high school basketball game and thinking about Christmas break and today he's going to Purdue after break. Purdue was probably the last place he was thinking of when he started his Senior year!

"Jeff will end up growing into an inside player in college," Riley said. "He played defensive end for us at 250 pounds, but he will be 300 there and move inside. I think he'll be a great player. He loves football. He's a wonderful kid who loves to practice, loves the locker room and everything that comes with being a football player. In fact, we had to teach him to slow down some in practice."

Looking at some video of the kid, I'll say a low to mid 3 star rating is in order. Plays with good pad level, especially when coming around the edge with his dip and rip. Didn't show any other moves but appears to have the body to put on good weight during a RS year and possibly slide inside similar to Robinson who played as an undersized DT this season in Holt's system that stresses speed in the front 7. I think Marks has good energy and even when tired appeared to put forth good effort. He is a good get that immediately bolsters the roster with depth next season...even as a RS/scout team player.
