Have you looked deeper in to his stats rather than just the topical stats of PPG and rebounds? Our big men have their work cut out for them. Butler's Martin averages 17 pts and nearly 8 rbds a game.
He’s playing more and better than earlier in the year. I’d expect him to get decent minutes on Saturday with our height.Brunk hasn't played much. Only averaging about 6-7 minutes a game over their last 5 games.
Geez, we haven't beaten them since I've been 55 - DAMN!Purdue hasn't ever beaten Butler in the Crossroads and even before this event, they haven't won head-to-head since December 1998.

In games against their better competition (have yet to play a ranked team up to this point btw) with Maryland likely their toughest opponent, Martin has taken a total of 89 shots in those 5 games to get his points. Meaning he is taking 17.8 shots per game to get to that 17 points. If Martin wants to take that many shots to average 19 points, then let him. Purdue has two to three better defenders than what any other team could throw their way previously in this season. Also, in two of those games (Maryland and Texas), Butler lost by an average of 13.5 points. Their other opponents have been traditionally 200+ RPI teams.
Butler has yet to play any one even remotely close to what Purdue has shown this season. I am guessing Vince and Mathias guard Martin BUT wouldn't be surprised to see Eastern guard him as well at times while Mathias is used to shut down other players. Let Martin get his and if he gets 30 but Butler loses....great for him!
Very true. Personally Carson Edwards is an elite talent and Haas is way better than most on here want to admit. If we play up to our ability, we will win. Better come out focused and ready to kill. Will be a great game.To answer your question, no I don't have the time to look that deep into the stats. However, I do know that Butler plays against "lesser" competition to begin with and yet they've had a knack for defeating Purdue.
Martin is a high volume shooter, no doubt. But also very streaky. I suspect Butler wins a very high percentage of the games he hits 30. And loses a similar percentage if he’s less than 10. I would choose the latter.Have you looked deeper in to his stats rather than just the topical stats of PPG and rebounds?
