• Zach Edey on the NCAA Tournament officiating thus far ...

"I've been getting a lot of foul calls that probably all along should have been foul calls, but they weren't called in the Big Ten," Edey said. "I feel like when my arms get slapped, they're calling fouls instead of trying to balance things for both teams. ... I don't want to say I'm being properly, but I don't think they're looking at my height and saying, 'He can't be fouled.' They're looking at it and saying, 'That's a foul.'"

• Brian Waddell — yes, I'm the one who was asking for Brian Waddell today — said he hopes to be involved to some extent by the start of summer workouts. Long process for him.

He's 190 pounds now, up more than 20 from when he got to Purdue, though he lost a bunch of weight after getting hurt, but has since put it back on. Still needs more, but his jersey fits him better now haha.

• Fletcher Loyer was at practice today with his dad, John, who's a scout for the Clippers. Whether this was business or just pleasure, I don't know. John Loyer mostly deals with the free agency side of scouting as I understand it.

Fletcher said he's taking part in a high school three-point shooting contest at the Final Four in New Orleans.

Purdue had a recruit take part in something like that before but I'll be damned if I can remember who it was.

• Ethan Morton and Matt Painter alike said that Morton doesn't really get any advance notice on who he might have to guard in a given game, beyond broad scouting report stuff. So it's not like Purdue is telling him two days before a game to study up on Keegan Murray or Marcus Carr or whatever. They're just free-wheeling, I guess you could say.
