Could a Loss be Better than a Win?

OK, don't yell at me...I want Purdue to win as mush as anyone else. But, since Iowa and MSU have already won, the best we can do is a #4 seed (if OSU loses at home to Wisconsin tomorow). A win coupled with an OSU win gives us a #5 seed.

As a #4 seed, we'd most likely play Iowa on Friday and Wisconsin on Saturday. The same would be true if we had a #5 seed, except that we'd need to win on Thursday (of course).

But, a loss to Illinois would give us a #6 seed, where we'd play MSU on Friday and Maryland on Saturday (again, assuming we win on Thursday).

Obviously, the #4 seed means having to play one less game, but if we're destined to play on Thursday as either a #5 or a #6, I'd almost rather have the #6 seed to (a) get a rematch with MSU and (b) avoid Wisconsin for as long as possible.

I know that a loss today would hurt our NCAA chances, but it might give rise to a bigger run in the B1G tournament.

Or, maybe I'm already looking for a silver lining in case we lose.

BTFU!

I'm not even sure a loss today hurts our NCAA chances all that much. Pretty much every media expert seems to have us in right now before this game is even played.

Win of course, but a loss isn't the end of the world either.

I'd rather play Iowa than MSU and a loss is never good this time of year.

Just win. We haven't lost to any Big Ten team by more than 9 points. I don't care who we play we will be able to play with them on a neutral court.

awesome

Would be the first time we had home cooking all year. But I'll take it.

No......

It brings into play to lose to two teams considered less than us.

Get the win today and do your best in the BTT.

If we win today and lose first game in BTT we I think are still in the NCAA.

If we lose today and then for some reason lose in BTT, I think we are out of NCAA.

So don't bring that even into play...just win today.

That is all.

Boiler Up!

Three losses in a row and going into the Big Ten Tournament that we historically play terrible in. The answer to that is No!!

OK, I agree.

Nevermind!
