Congrats to Brady Allen in being named Indiana Mr. Football!

“There was a tremendous amount of pressure on him the last few years to get Gibson Southern to a state championship game,” said Ward. “To welcome that pressure and excel like he did this season taking their team all the way, I think he put an exclamation point on it. What separates Brady is he is the dude and everybody knew it. He rose to the occasion."

This. It's what we have to have at Purdue to go from good to GREAT, Trevion has taken the BB team on his shoulders, Aidan had that kind of instinct this year (and hopefully 2022) so I look forward to Mr. Allen carrying on the tradition going forward.

Congratulations Brady!I am very glad for you and cant wait to see you excel at Purdue!Boiler up!

Mr. Football & Mr. Basketball have lost their luster with the Gatorade Player of the Year because it’s for the best player in the state regardless of class while Mr. Football is for Seniors only. And Gatorade players of the year automatically move to the National Player if the Year Awards.

I would love to agree with you, but I had to look up who won that award. Never even heard it announced whereas Mr. Football/Basketball announcement makes headlines every year.

You think anyone else should’ve won it over Brady Allen?

"Those recruits you've signed? The ones with those 'Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball' awards? They're ancient history, and don't matter anymore."

🤣

Can you recall of a player that won this type of state award that sat out as many game minutes as Allen did and it was not due to injury??
Mind boggling !
