Four hours of drooling about OSU and trying to figure out a way that IU doesn't lose this game by 45....sounds interesting.
And the pay is commensurate.
This is all on Burke. We could have stepped on IU football's throat during the Tiller years if we had wisely chosen to invest in the major revenue sport. Instead, we built palaces for our non-revenue sports and allowed IU to dominate us in high profile college football over the past several years. Now Bobinski has to fight like hell just to bring Purdue football back to being competitive with IU. Krannert should revoke Burke's management degree.
Iu hasn't dominated anything in football ever. They beat us by 2 at their place last year. We were competitive with them last year with the worst coach in our history against an iu team that made a bowl. Relax.
The same QB that's starting tonight for you guys you mean? Is that really your excuse? Is it really a rivalry when it's so lopsided one way though?
IU has won the last four games. That's only happened one other time since 1891. Getting beat by IU in football once is embarrassing. Four times in row is inexcusable.
Help me out guys. Much bigger BB guy. Why is IU playing Ohio state tonight? I don't pay any attention to CFB in the offseason.

And who hired Hazell? And who hired Hope? And who cheaped out with Tiller and his assistants? Thank goodness Painter used the press to stand up for himself or basketball would be in this same mess. And oh, by the way, womens basketball is in this same mess - from national contender to middle of the Big Ten. Burke should have been canned halfway through his tenure.
IU will not beat Purdue at Purdue. You guys are way too one-dimensional (no running game to speak of) and teams will scheme to take away the lobs to the outside. Urban Meyer solved IU at halftime and OSU crushed IU in the second half.
OSU 49, IU 21. It was 14-13 IU at half. IU likely played their best half of football for the entire year in the first half.
I was thinking the same thing, that first half will be the highlight for their season.

Yeah, first game of the season, no OC so no game tape of how he would run the offense with their players. What surprised me was how long it took Wilson to get the tOSU offense rolling against a D he should've been familiar with. Of course tOSU's players weren't making many plays in the first half.
Cobbs is a talent and IU may have enough with their other WR's to cause problems...but I am guessing Cobbs is going to get a lot of double teams and they'll force IU to try and run the ball.
In the first half, IU made a lot of plays that would have been considered at best 50/50 balls. The first drive, Cobbs made three amazing catches the the TE made another one. A drive like that isn't the norm and you saw IU absolutely couldn't manufacture any sort of run game. Granted, the DL OSU has is the best in the country but you have to get more than 17 yards. When OSU figured IU couldn't run the ball, they dropped 6-8 men almost every time and allowed their DL to get to the QB.
And O$U came close to two additional scores on D in that third quarter. That fumble, later ruled an incomplete pass, was Lagow blindly trying to avert a sack by throwing it away. (Who was he throwing to?) Probably the right thing to do because he was going to fumble otherwise. Then he did it again and threw it to two Buckeyes which is why it was dropped.
One-dimensional, You make that assessment after one game??We went up against the best Defensive Line in all of college football. We will not have that problem with your D-Line and you are no where near a top 5 team, so we will be just fine against Purdue.
Loosier, OSU just gave the blueprint for how to defend Grandpa DeBord's offense for the entire year. I'm telling you right now, your OL is worse than last year because you lost some good players and your excellent OL coach, Greg Frey. Your running game is going to struggle this year compared to the last few under Wilson/Frey.
OSU has an excellent DL for sure, but IU was exposed last night in no small part because of IU's loss of OL talent, DeBord's scheme, and the loss of Frey as OL coach.
Your way better team last year beat us by 2 at IU. We've upgraded coaches and play at home. I wouldn't consider that a gimme win by any stretch of the imagination.
This is IU fandom. Every pre-season and prior to BIG play, IU fans puff their chests and say that IU football is "turning the corner", then reality sets in...IU went 12-37 in BIG play under Wilson, their "best" coach in 2 decades. Just like Mallory, they fired him and then went on a long stretch of bottom feeder football.
IU hasn't won a bowl game since 1991. They haven't had a winning season since 2007 after Bill Lynch's "miracle" and "let's win for Hep". They just hired a guy as HC who as only really been a head coach in HS. As Wilson's players graduate, the program is going to degrade. They just got trashed in their self-declared "Super Bowl".
Don't you guys call the Purdue Notre Dame game a rivalry? That is as one sided as the Iu Pu series.
Another reversible jacket fan IU/ND fan? As soon as IU goes in the $hitter, start watching ND instead?
The ND series is on hiatus at their request. Not much of a rivalry, but it is fun to beat them when we do. Tiller had a share of success against ND (5 wins) and many other tight games. Brohm will do much better against ND than Hope or Hazell did when we actually play them again in a few years.
ND doesn't even want to play IU and IU wouldn't schedule ND - doesn't fit IU's historically soft pre-conference scheduling philosophy.
