Coaches say must happen to NCAAM

I feel if you see a crime you should report it if you don't then don't complain about it. Kills me that these coaches are coming out saying they've seen all this but didn't report none of it. If I'm coaching at that level and I know I'm not winning recruiting battles because people are cheating I'm turning them in. Definitely wouldn't turn my back to the problem. But that's just me

The difference is whether you think anything would happen based on your turning them in. If nothin,g then why bother?

I know somebody's going to smash me for saying I'm going to get the kids in trouble. But they know it's against the rules they're old enough to know.

this is where some of us have to make a tough call. normally I would say, if you turn somebody in and you know the outcome is going to be nothing then why bother. but for certain people like myself, as a teacher and Boy scout leader, I have to report things about certain activities others may say why bother. there is no alcohol drinking allowed at scouting activities no matter where they take place. A dad can't go fishing with his son at a scouting event and open a can of beer. if a child has a lot of bruises or is tired, or appears abused, by law, I have to report it, and allow the authorities to decide, or I could be in trouble.. I had a boy scout who was a cutter, and I caught him and reported him. His parents were furious that we reported him to the police, and then they were treated as potential negligent parents. I saw the boy 6 months later with his grandparent. he was alive.

if I saw somebody cheating, in basketball, I'd use those same ethical standards, and report them and allow the authorities sort it out.

This shit is pitiful. Cheating is OK? Who the hell teaches their children this BS? And who condones this from adults? In my line of work (aerospace engineering) this conduct is criminal. I am ecstatic the FBI is busting these scumbags. I pray Purdue is not involved.

I agree with your sentiment. But in some states it is illegal to record a private conversation without the person's permission -- or a court order. Arrange to meet the perps in a state where it is OK.

I'm flipping tired of hearing people say, 'it's always the kids that get in trouble.'

B-S.

Kids (more specifically, their guardians) know exactly what's right and what's wrong. And the kids usually have someone in their ear telling them, 'it's okay . . . everybody does it.'

Well, no they don't.

What's right is right, and what's wrong is wrong.

Speaking of which, what’s up with Bowen? He got caught red handed.

He should never be eligible to play NCAA basketball if proven guilty and is not good enough to enter NBA draft next year IMO. He'll probably need to cut his teeth in the D League or Europe for a couple years.
