Mack Brown out at North Carolina.
6 straight bowls and 18 NFL draft picks fired after winning “only” 6 games this year…

He developed a couple of really good quarterbacks (Howell, Maye), but their defense has been atrocious for years.

I think UNC was hoping he'd recapture his magic from his previous run with them, but it never quite happened. Good guy, good coach, but it was time for him to go.

Way different than the Walters situation.

UNC gave up 70 points to George Madison I n a football game this year. And they lost the game. They also lost a game to Georgia Tech they should have won. Many have said, he’s lost it.

My guess is they will not hire some assistant coach from a big 10 school with very little experience.

They could and have done a lot worse. If a 78 year old can run a country, a 73 year old can run a football team. As for his age, the young coaches never stay longer than 4 years anyway

What?! Pat fitzgerald was youngest coach and was at NU for 17 years. Ferentz has been at Iowa for 25 years. Day is just getting started and they’re like 6 years. Jeff brohm was here for 5 and people were upset he left early. What is young? What big ten coach left in 4 or fewer years on their own?
