I wasn't a big fan before, but after watching his post game press conference I'm onboard.
Coach Smart had some AMAZING things to say about Purdue/Edey/Smith/Loyer.

He is a quality coach who has built a good culture, success follows him for a reason
I like Shaka but I struggle with any coach that’s instructing his players to foul on every rebound and count on the fact that they’ll get away with it. Not just a Shaka issue it’s a broken system. The hook and hold non-call the possession after the same guy was called for hooking and holding Zach was a giant F@&k You to the rule book.

The man has a use it or lose it team. He does teach his kind of defense…But…where is his consistency?

Really, the man make his bones against Purdue at VCU which is ok! He needs to stay in one major conference for 10-12 years at one school and then we will see how classy he is?

Self is a great coach but a cheating POS.
Anybody that gives Self shit is ok in my book. Self is a cheating POS and should be called on it at every opportunity
He had great things to say about our program during his post game press conference last year too.
He’s a young up and coming really good D1 coach. He’s developed a culture of keeping his team together and focusing on developing his players on and off the court evidently. I’d say that he may have another move or two to ascend the coaching ladder and find a spot at a more prestigious school before finding a long term position. I might be wrong and he could stay at Marquette, only he can decide that. I like what he’s done as a coach. Just my thoughts!💭
I can see him replacing Hubert Davis at UNC if the Tar Heel faithful lose their patience.
