Coach Parker-Thank You!

Thank you Coach Parker, You at least showed that this team has heart and put on a great show. Wish you the best, and hope that you can stay with the team if you feel it is best! You showed Purdue can compete!

That's comparing apples to oranges. Parker was a position coach thrown into a desperate situation with literally no time to prepare.

He did the best he could under the circumstances.

I hope the experience he gained in the past two months serve him well in the future.

Yes, thank you Coach Parker.

No incoming coach could have turned around the team immediately. 8 years of poor recruiting gave us a team of under-sized, too-slow, under-skilled players. Yes, we have some good players, but not at all positions, and not in backup positions. We are thin, small, and slow compared to the best BIG teams.

I am judging your (coach Parker) performance on how well the team was prepared, how motivated they were, and how they played under your hand. Our kids did fine and put forth good effort, played smart, and were reasonably competitive.

Good Luck Mr. Parker. Thanks for your work, at least under you the team at least played with more heart than it ever did under the last guy.

For them not looking like zombies. Closest they have come to beating IU in the last 4 yrs. Guy at least motivated them, more than the last guy.

Yes we looked like a team as good as IU yesterday. If not for two penalties in the red zone we might have ended up dominating that game.

We looked a lot more prepared in the last 6 games against much better competition. The kids were motivated with solid game plans, just didn't have the depth to compete all 60 minutes.

Getting blown out from the opening kick against an average MD team is a much different way to lose than leading Nebraska and Penn State at half.

I actually started to enjoy watching Purdue football again.

And to think some here actually wanted this guy considered for the permanent job. Wow. Never was 0-6 so celebrated.

this is going to be real hard, but I have to say I totally agree with TC4THREE.

Yes, we almost beat IU, but the fact is , when presented with a chance to win, we still LOST !!! I have to believe no matter who the coach was , we would have been fired up for that game. and the result was the same.

I also have to believe the players were fired up to play Nebraska because it was the first game after Hazell was fired.

Yes, the passing game looked a lot better during Parker's 6 games as coach. I attribute that to being behind early and trying to play catch up. other teams allowed us to pass as they protected their lead. Losing 62-24 to a Penn St didn't seem to be to be playing inspired football to me. Take away the IU game, and Purdue was losing by an average of 24.2 points per game in the other 5 games parker coached. In that same stretch, our defense gave up an average of 45 points a game.

I'll give Purdue fans who loved Parker some props. He probably was the best coach on the team this past year, and definitely the best recruiter. I'll leave it at that. his record speaks for itself. More inspired play than for Hazell? ok, sure. I didn't really see much difference other than we passed the ball more often. Our defense sure wasn't inspired or prepared to play. I guess that was the def coordinator's fault and of course lack of depth and injuries, and , and ,and . and.

Bottom line; we sucked ! Move on.
