I see people from other fan bases and here question why Boilermaker fans are so excited about a coach who is one game over .500. I think this one quote by Kirk Barron sums it all up. At least it does for me.

"I believe we can go out winners. I've been here at Purdue when 3-9 was consistently expected so we would go out and celebrate getting a win against Eastern Kentucky and that's not what college football is about," Barron said. "College football is about building bonds and creating memories and these last two seasons have been so memorable. I didn't have one memory of my first three years, which were not great."

Keep creating those memories coach!

Brohm hauled in a huge recruiting class and is going to legit compete for the top players in the country in the next few years. What do you think boosters would pay for a class like that? Especially one that is recruited without cheating! $1M? In my mind the raise is paid for in recruiting alone. What would you pay for Painter to consistently get the players he wanted? Hell, what do you think Duke pays for their basketball class each year? I bet it approaches $500k and that is only for 3-4 kids! Brohm is a bargain and a high character face for the university.

Brohm is worth every penny.

Just increased ticket sales alone have been a boon to the program. Then increased merchandising on top of increased national advertising with the Tennessee and Louisville rumors.

Also, can you imagine the economic impact to the program if another coach came in and tore the program down in order to build it up again instead of Brohm's win now approach? I personally would have had a tough time with another 3-9 season. I can't imagine what Illinois fans are going through now, with no end in sight.

Anyone who questions Brohm’s value hasn’t watched the last 70 or so Purdue football games. Period.

What Brohm has done here is awesome. I think as we go forward with better talent levels it is only going to get better. To see his worth all you have to do is look at how his name is mentioned for multiple jobs each year. The cfb world knows his worth. I think Brohm is going to give us 2-4 more awesome years, succeed like we haven’t seen for quite sometime, and leave a stocked cupboard and great new reputation for the program for his successor to inherit.

They just announced from 2016 to 2018 that our game attendance average went from a little over 34,000 to over 51,000 a 50% increase. This was the highest increase in the nation. I would say Brohm is paying dividends.

Also, his raise was pretty much paid for by the ending of the Haze contract.

Taking into account the past 70 or more Purdue Football Games, just consider the number of games that we have won or been competitive in just because sound coaching, players being in proper alignment, scheme and football knowledge that is now on our side of the field....
Hope had no prayer with no university support and Haze had no hope or a prayer........Sorry DH lovers....

I hope you guys DO realize we're on the eve of another bowl game, and neither Hope nor Hazell have been around for quite some time...

Since Brohm has gotten here I went to my first football game in 10 years and have bought more Purdue merchandise in the last 2 years than the prior 10 years. I promised to spend more money if they got the right coach and I kept my promise. I have also picked up some Tyler Trent gear, which I will cherish forever.

And there were usually far less than 34k in the stadium. A lot of those crowds resembled a typical late 4th quarter crowd at IU. Curious to know the increases in things like parking and concessions.

I went to games against Penn state and Minnesota in the last couple years of The Haze and by the end of the 3rd quarter there were less than 15K in the stands.
