Hey guys. I've been a lurker here for a VERY long time. Long enough to know that some of you won't care about any of this, some will, and some will probably attempt to troll . This is my first post. Just as a brief introduction for those who will care: I am finally graduating from Purdue next Sunday. I'm 32 and returned this past summer to finish my undergrad degree after a long period out in the real world. I'm really proud of this accomplishment, and have seen enough here to know that some of you guys will appreciate that. I couldn't be more excited to join many of you as a Purdue graduate.
Anyway, I'm not sure how often I'll post, but I had an experience this morning that I know some of you guys will like. I was having breakfast at a food establishment that will go unnamed right across the street from campus. I was just about to leave, but looked up and saw Coach Brohm. He was in a hurry, but looked like he might be headed my way so I hung out at my table for a few moments. I briefly stopped him, welcomed him to Purdue, and wished him well. I was just a random guy to him. He didn't have to stop and say anything, but he did. He looked me in the eye, thanked me, and told me he really appreciated it.
He seemed very genuine and kind in that brief moment. As much as I appreciated that, I could also tell he was on a mission to get done whatever he needed to get done (which, evidently, was to get down to Indy to recruit). I know this isn't much, but it left me excited. It gave me a good feeling that we really have a great coach on our hands here. Time will tell, but this is the most optimistic I've felt about Purdue football in a long time.
