Just entered the portal, when healthy which he says he is he’s one of the best 3 point shooters in the country. Hope Painter looks into him, he could be an ideal 15-20 minute guy as a 23 year old. Purdue could use a specialist, not sure what Frederick is looking for but he’s a fit at Purdue.

they say is going to end up at Cincinnati.

If he is smart Purdue would be the perfect fit for him. An elite spot up shooter. He always looked out of place and a bit lossed at Kentucky. If Edey returns, I could see a lot of open look opportunities for Frederick.
He’d be a perfect complimentary player, he could slide into both the 2 and 3 slots probably getting himself 20 minutes a game.

One of many players who would fit in the role of 3 pt specialist.

With Edey @ the 5 this is NOT a hard sell. Not saying this is the guy. But we have room. Get a guy that fits. Crime not to with space open

Would be a great pick up but we are so loaded. Players are looking for playing time which we don't really have. It's going to take a hell of a talent to send Myles to the bench. Catching and Benter coming next year throw in Loyer and Heide. It's good to be good but not in the transfer portal. With the talent of Colvin and Catching and their rankings doubtful a transfer wouldn't know who they are.

Our record says we’re not loaded with 3 point shooters.

Catchings & Benter have nothing to do with a transfer this year.

If we have space, a guy that can hit a 3 is always handy. But with who we have, I agree, minutes will be at a premium & hard to come by. But this is a situational, limited minute role....but needed given our 3 pt stats last year.

As a side note, I hope MC is as good as you & others have advertised him. We need another big time difference maker. For sure, hope he is it by year's end

Loaded? This team can't shoot. There's plenty of playing time for an athlete who can get their own shot, but it doesn't sound like thats what this kid is. We supposedly have guys who can shoot, we need guys who can score.

Agreed, not saying he’s the guy either, however, he’d be a really good fit. He’s played in the Big Ten, saw his name out there and thought this is the perfect specialist that’s needed. Coming off injuries maybe he knows he’s not a 25-30 minute a guy anymore, 15-20 would be perfect for this team.

Correct, for me he’s the perfect backup to Loyer, Fletcher should be a 25 minute a game player, also, on occasions they could play together when 3 point shooting is needed. I think 18-20 minutes a game would be perfect for a guy coming off tons of injury problems.

Myles Colvin is what this team needs he is athletic and can shoot the ball from the outside don't forget about heide
My post is more about being Loyer’s backup. Loyer was worn out last year, 25 minutes a game should be the goal, maybe a little less. That would give CJ ample minutes, plus they could play together in some sets.

He only made 2% of his 3's for Kentucky, was he not healthy? He did seem like good shooter at Iowa.

He’s an excellent shooter, if Edey returns (if) he’d be a perfect compliment, he’d get a lot of open looks. We’ll see what happens, chances are he wants starters minutes, if that’s the case he won’t come here. Someone to look into though, hopefully, Painter is looking at him as well as other options for shooters.

32% in limited shots last year, he was injured and missed a lot of games. At Iowa he had consecutive years of near 48% from the 3 point line. He was considered one of the games best 3 point shooters when he transferred there, he’s been hurt after a transfer season.

We need more guys that can do multiple things not one trick poneys imo. Ball handlers that can shoot or shooters that can break people down, etc. We are too easy to scout. Saying that, I hope edey comes back and Colvin gets an opportunity to make mistakes early and get better. He's exactly what we need in March to pair with edey. Hopefully heide too. Teams want to press..there's two guys that can attack the rim.

You never know with freshmen I mean you never know. This I do know kid has ALL the tools. There is a reason players with his athletic abilities are rated so high with the NBA. But as we all have seen NBA talent doesn't always equal college success and vice versa. With that being said I stand by my assessment.

Colvin is a beast. Always plays on crappy teams. His aau team was low level and his high school team was atrocious. Never understood why his dad didn’t change that, but there had to be reasons. He is an Ivey/carsen type of player.
By being on those teams, the players and coaches allow and expect him to do more. This allows individual growth and skill development, but could lead to more individual play down the road as well, due to habits. I think you want him with a lean to selfish, but that is a lean...

Frederick is not a great athlete, Matt says we need to get more athletes, an easy pass on him
Matt also said we need good shooters, not many better when healthy than CJ. I hope he checks in, I also realize he might be looking for more than 15-20
Minutes a game.

100%
One dimensional spot up shooters have a pretty small role in todays game.
I’d much rather have a guy who isn’t a great shooter but can penetrate, finish, etc.

Loyer and Smith can score in different ways from different levels. I believe that Heide, Colvin, and Jones can as well. I think we’ll see a more versatile offense next season and I am not exactly sure where Frederick would fit.

Looks like Mr Potato head with a $3 bowl cut, hard pass. Also, he is from Cincinnati, so obviously likes garbage chili. Ultra hard pass.
