He's a 6'2" 205 lbs. Juco Safety who committed to Purdue. He'll have a lot of JC company in this class it looks like.
Parker has 3 years to play 2 and I don't see that throwing the classes further out of balance. Since there are transfers, academic casualties and career ending injuries, why worry about the classes being unbalanced when these things are not something that can be controlled? Take the best available players who can help immediately. Hedelin, Young, Mahoungou and Henley have all played and contributed. We need guys good enough to get on the field right away, whether it be HS or JC is not the main thing right now. Either way (HS or JC), if they can play, then take them.The problem that exists when you have an already small class of less than 15, recruiting JUCOs will further imbalance the classes.
Not that this staff is concerned about it because the likelihood of them being here to see it through is slim to none. It also speaks to the desperate need for immediate impact players, though we all know the frequency of JC guys to pan out like that are not frequent.
