Not sure if anyone caught this on sports center today but Charlotte Brown, a blind pole vaulter from Texas, cleared and 11' bar in the state competition and is attempting to win the championship today. Trailing off in the story, it was mentioned that she will be walking on at Purdue next year.
Should be a very nice story to watch.
I'd be interested to learn more about the technology, but apparently, there is a sensoring system in the pole/slot tied to a listening device in her ear that beeps based on proximity to the pole slot. Cool story.
