... and, of course, we never offered. What would we want with a three-star lineman for an undefeated state champion who played just across town?
He wanted the offer from ND that was what he worked hard for.Purdue is a stretch for a 3 star at any position with the clown show coaching this football team.... and, of course, we never offered. What?!!? 3 star lineman? Burke said those didn't exist!... and, of course, we never offered. What would we want with a three-star lineman for an undefeated state champion who played just across town?

Hazell had not seen his tape yet, or at least had not taken a hard look at it.I really, I mean really, struggle to understand this.
This is a problem. If you have in state talent you have to at least take a look but to have talent 5 minutes away and not offering is insane. Who cares if you offered a kid 14 spots higher. Can't have enough quality offensive lineman just ask Andrew Luck!... and, of course, we never offered. Didn't Cronk work out at a camp for Hazell and Coach Bridge? They seem to think that Powell and Campbell are better prospects than Cronk. Considering some of the misses these guys have had in the past, it wouldn't surprise me if they were flat out wrong either.... and, of course, we never offered. In related news, we already have a commitment from a player at the same position, rated 14 spots higher.
Is this the way to build relationships with state/local coaches?... and, of course, we never offered. What would we want with a three-star lineman for an undefeated state champion who played just across town?

We still may offer Anthrop. I think there is a stigma with a 1A player plus it was supposed to be a small class; isn't it like 14 or something? I believe if it was a big class, 20-25 he would have been offered. I agree it stinks to lose him to IU.
I am not sure; when Purdue was on BYE week Hazell picked his game to go to when they played some small school and won by 50. Usually when the head man goes to a game he is a top target. If Darrell Hazell is going to go anywhere in the world to watch a game and he goes to CC, I have to believe someone is a target. If they don't offer Anthrop that seems kind of like a wasted visit. Can he play DB?

That area must not fall inside "The State of Purdue".The lack of prospects from the region recently is worrysome. Tiller had good success up there and even Hope got a couple. I think Robinson is Hazell's only commit from up there.
Not any dumber than not offering a TE who is the son and nephew of former Boilers who both played in the NFL.... and, of course, we never offered. What would we want with a three-star lineman for an undefeated state champion who played just across town?
Region has been definitely down lately. Peaks and valleys. Yancey, Robinson, Dalapo McCarthy all come to mind. The kicker is when kids from the state go to other mid-level teams like the kid from Penn going to Virginia, Cronk to IU, etc. Hazell or Purdue needs to nail down Fort Wayne for sure. The lack of prospects from the region recently is worrysome. AND get back into the Chicago area. I was looking at a rundown of the all Chicago players in the Trib last weekend and it listed where they were going to school. I noted not one mention of Purdue among them with most of the rest of the BIG as well as other top tier schools and some MAC schools mentioned. I think DH is just suffering rectal cranial inversion in recruiting.Region has been definitely down lately. Peaks and valleys. Yancey, Robinson, Dalapo McCarthy all come to mind. Are talking about Clayton Richard that went to Michigan?
Tiller recruited him pretty hard from what i remember.
Three stars? Sorry too much progress for our HC to deal with.... and, of course, we never offered. What would we want with a three-star lineman for an undefeated state champion who played just across town?

If we really think this one 3 star guy will make a difference please!! 1a PLAYER WHO LOOKS UNDERSIZED IT WILL TAKE HIM 3YEARS TO MATURE. hAZELL DOESNT HAVE THE LUXURY TO WAIT THAT IS WHY THE JC ROUTE IS WHERE THEY ARE GOING. THAT ROUTE IS LIKE A TWO EDGED SWORD... THEY BETTER BE DAMM GOOD OR ELSE. MY ISSUE IS WEITH JC'S NO REAL ALLEGIENCE TO PURDUE, SOME OF THESE GUYS DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT STATE WE ARE IN. BE CAREFUL COAACH
Mitch Clayton would have been offered by Purdue but he simply was not interested in playing football or going to college. That was why Purdue did not offer. He was as good as any back in the state his senior year regardless of class.
