carsen video workout before coming to Purdue

He has the potential to be pretty good! Is it too much for me to wish for a late growth-spurt for him? His potential for success could be increased even more with that.

After J. Taylor C. Edwards is my next favorite.......kid is a stud and going to do great things.

Chevy,

We're going to need a cardiologist on standby for that first time when CE throws an ally-oop to JT for a throwdown! Although it was encouraging you survived the Rutgers outburst last year......

Hoping to see good things soon as well.....

Nag, he looks every bit of six two to me. I think he is going to be great. Can't wait to see how quickly he adjusts to D1 ball.

Nice video! Carson is smooth and polished for a high school kid. I think he is going to give us that scoring punch like Smooge used to, hitting baskets from all over, unexpectedly. By the way, I did not see that level of athleticism and polish in Scott. As much as I liked Scott as a player, I think the comparisons end when this kid picks up the basketball.

i guess I missed when some compared him to Bryson. I dont' see much comparable...different players in what I have seen. Oops see the comparison was physically, not skill level. Think Bryson a little more solid physically, but Carsen has more springs. Bryson better on ball D, not sure about either off the ball

Scott is a very good athlete. Carson might be a better leaper (which I don't think matters too much), but I am not ready to say that he is faster or stronger than Scott.

The clip that made me think of Scott was towards the beginning of the video when he showed the strength to finish through contact. The comparison is physical. They both appear to be an inch or two over 6' and very solid and athletic.

The reasons why Scott struggled at Purdue had nothing to do with his size and athleticism and I am not suggesting that Edwards with struggle in the same areas. Scott's biggest issue was that he was a freelancer on both ends of the court and it didn't help that he wasn't an outside shooting threat. I expect that Edwards will be a better fit in both respects.

How do they compare to Chris Reid on your list of favorites?
Oh tough question......

Loved Chris "The Big Easy" Reid and what he gave to the team....great teammate/team player and off the court glue guy.

J. Taylor is primed and has the talent to contribute on the floor this year. Great young man, talented and glad his time has come to use his abilities...finally healthy. Love how he is bonding with Haas and investing both physically and mentally to be a big part of the Purdue family.

C. Edwards is still raw to me and Purdue fans, but you can see he is charismatic and is going to do good things....he has that swagger......like Kramer did.

So tough answer but I would say in a fight or out drinking or knew he would have my back Chris Reid...J. Taylor if your just talking passion Purdue and the focus to be successful and C. Edwards on potential for greatness........all of them have it all but that was the only way I could explain them all being #1 in some way.

Boiler Up!

I think you can blame the basketball issues as a result of a team that pressed a lot. Not near as much basketball learned in that mode...
