Kid has spunk... hope he is as good as advertised.

Edit: sorry the video and tweet was deleted. It was good though.

Who tweeted it?

I saw it tweeted by Carsen himself. It was an above the practice court video. I wonder if it was against team policy to tweet it so he deleted it. I saw later that Hammer and Rails wrote a story on it being out there for a bit and then pulled too. Too bad. It was a cool video.

I'm pretty sure CMP has a policy that until you play your first game freshman aren't heard from. Guessing him tweeting something from practice falls in that category. But that's just my guess.

My guess is that you generally don't want to put video out on social media of you showing up one of your teammates. While I'm sure it was cool to see, I doubt Haas would be thrilled to have it out there. Best to keep things like that in house.

Not sure if I should be more excited about a 6 foot freshman dunking on our 7'2 starting Jr center or more concerned about our 7'2 starting Jr center being dunked on by a 6 foot freshman.....
I'm kidding....I'm sure there was very little D being played in a corec style pick up game.

not having seen the video I suspect Carson got a step to the bucket and Haas moved over some and held his ground with hands up and Carson just dunked it. I doubt very much that Haas was going for the block and Carson got a dunk. Still, it shows some aggressiveness for the freshman

I saw the video. Haas was out high on a switch and Carsen beat him him to the basket. And as others have said, there wasn't a lot of defense in the pick up game that I could see. It was only a 7 second clip on Twitter and you didn't get to see much of the play, so who really knows.

That said, I am happy to have a point guard that has the ability to cut quickly to the basket and dunk it. If he can shoot threes consistently like in his highlight videos, I think we got a steal out of Texas. Heck, it took Yogi until his senior year to dunk in practice (tic).

Tell me Painter has placed Carsen Edwards as the starting PG in next year's team and even I will get excited.....as I know what we have there....and if Painter thinks Carsen is better we will be alright.

I'm just glad that having someone as quick as CEdwards going to the basket will help Haas.

Carsen is better than RJ, so you know he's MUCH better than Yogi.

If Carsen is Willie 2.0 with a better shot, people might to have to find a new position to complain about.

Hell, In a galaxy far, far away, and many years ago when I could dunk, I always worried someone would take my legs out in a pick-up game, even without trying to.. That or I would hurt myself somehow, some way.. No more pick-up dunks for anyone under 6'8". That may be a good rule for our players. Not going to happen and doesn't really seem logical today..but safer.

In my limited knowledge base and personal experience mostly the result of ankle sprains that now happen when I see others twist theirs....I found injuries less likely when playing with people that have played in some quality of players. Course, that info may not stand the test of actual data... :)

The towel boy is up next. I mean has anyone checked the softness of the towels? What's his minutes per game on handing towels out? Is Painter telling him to be out of position or give the towel to the wrong guy? Why can't we ever get 5 star towel boys?

That actually happened to me when I was in high school at a church camp near Fort Wayne. The other team was playing their pastors and counselors who were much older and trying to slow the game down. Deep into the second half we had run their legs out from under them and one of them walked under me as I was dunking. I woke up in a hospital.

Yuck. Did you have to be told what happened or did you remember up to that point?

I had to be told what happened. It was outside on an asphalt court. Apparently I had my hands out to protect me but I hit the standard and it spun me around. Still don't remember it.

Is the dunk over Haas somewhere in that link??

I scrolled down for many minutes and didn't see it.
No, sorry. I ran across the article with the mention of Edwards' talent and I didn't want to start a new link.

Unless it resurfaces later, it sounds like "the dunk" video has disappeared. I suspect we'll see replays of similar plays as the season goes on.
