6'6 youngest son of Ric Barry. Played at Charleston and averaged 19.7 as a senior until he was hurt in January. Grad transfer. Wants to study Nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering or physics. Could be a good fit if he can play defense. Bet he can make free throws. Anybody else have any insight on this one?

I went to a CofC game earlier this year and actually came aware pretty impressed by Barry. And yes, he does shoot free throws underhanded.
He's a legit 6'6, had a pretty good stroke from 3, good first step, was able to get into the lane and hit pull ups/floaters. Better than avg athlete. Similar size to Stephans but better off the bounce.
I'd compare him maybe to a Stauskas from Mich or maybe even She-He from iu.

"Decisions of this magnitude are never easy and today is bittersweet for me," Barry said in a statement. "I informed Coach [Earl] Grant and my teammates that I plan on graduating from the College of Charleston this summer and pursue a master's degree in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering or physics. I am hoping to use my last season of basketball eligibility to start work on my master's program."

I don't know if this means basketball will be a secondary consideration for him or not but we do have two spots to fill and grad transfers are ideal. I'd prefer a solid point guard and a big man but if he wanted to study engineering at Purdue I'd give it a hard look. Who knows? The interest has to be mutual and I'm not sure if it would be on either end at the moment.
