Calling my shot

We know Rondale will get his yards. I am hoping that Knox and/or Jones will have good games, and the line will hold enough to give Blough the opportunity to be given a chance to throw a few downfield.

As far as our defense, we should have Jacob back, which will be a big plus for our secondary. Holt is going to have to creative with our line with Neal out, and our lack of QB pressure all year. We cannot allow their offense to have quick strikes.

I still think we pull out a victory. 31-24. Let's Play Football!

Rondale has 10-12 catches 150 yards and 2 touchdowns
Auburn's coach is on the hottest of hot seats with the AU fans, and I expect to see their defense come to play.

Not taking anything away from Moore's accolades, but Blough will be rushed all night, and Moore will be limited to maybe 7 catches and less than 75 yards.

You had Purdue losing to Arizona last year too, didn’t you?

why does it seem like you're always "talking down" this Purdue football program?

Honestly don't remember....have more important things to remember over a year.
Maybe it's because he's still an IU football fan and hated we were able to retain Brohm. Only thing I've ever seen was he hated IU basketball for the RMK debacle.
Nah, IU football has always sucked.

I'm not as sold on Brohm as some on here. Danny Hope has the same record in his last two as Brohm in his first two. I hope he wins a lot of games because if he doesn't, there will be a lot of bridge watches in West Laffy.

Hope had the benefit of having some Tiller recruits, and he was not able to do much with them. Brohm had Hazell recruits to work with. Not an apples to apples comparison.

And you don’t see any difference in the programs they inherited?

You really believe it's just on here? Man, the guy is nation wide. He has put Purdue in situations we haven't seen in some time. Best recruiting class ever, we went big time with the OSU victory. Oh, he decided to stay and build something special.

If all you want to do is look at records, go ahead. But if you don't believe Brohm is better than Hope in all facets, I can't help you...

Off subject.....just re-watchd the PU Wisc game on the BTN. Dangit, P should have won that game!!

Hope did it with Tiller players... Brohm was left with Hazell recruits. To compare the two records would be significantly misleading and well... just plain wrong. Brohm accomplished more in one season than Hazell did in 4. I don’t recall Hope landing a top 25 class. If you look at the 247 website, Brohm has 4 of the top 10 highest rated recruits in the internet ranking era at Purdue. Hope got to bowl games by playing scrub schedules and then lost. Brohm has one of the hardest schedules in the nation and still went 6-6. Got to 7-6 with a team that with the previous regime would have struggled to win 3 games. It’s easy to say he hasn’t accomplished anything (although getting the highest class since the Tiller era and the one ranked higher didn’t get anything from several of the top recruits so it has the potential to be the best in the modern era.) But he did have a winning season in a rebuilding process that was expected to take at least 3 years. Two straight bowl games with players regularly ranked at the bottom of the the Big. Brohm has gotten national media attention for this turnaround and he is the real deal. He has gotten paid and has been getting more talent than he has ever had. It is time to do more. I think 9 wins should be the bar. The following year should be 10-11 wins depending on what they do next year. The national media has seen what he has accomplished. He was considered the best hire out of all the coaching hires the year Purdue got him, he has gotten constant national media praise on the turnaround, and he has landed one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. Considering where Purdue was, it’s hard to ask for much more than that in 2 years.

Again, a bad take. The circumstances each inherited were quite different. 3 Top 25 wins including #2. An offense that blows away anything Hope fielded. Recruiting is significantly better. Two years, two Bucket wins, two bowl games. Sorry that you can’t distinguish between the two, but you’re just not trying very hard. And comparing Brohm’s first two seasons with Hope’s last two is ridiculous.

Twin is obviously a basketball fan first and foremost. It’s obvious by this terrible take he has a lot to learn about football.

What Brohm has accomplished in two years after the Hazel debacle is extraordinary.

Actually, a baseball fan first. College basketball second. College Softball 3rd, and College FB 4th. Then, what ever comes before the NBA and Soccer. And I'm plenty knowledgeable about football.

Yes, I know there's room for disagreement, but, respectfully, you haven't displayed that recently.
Hey, I've said that though he wasn't my 1st choice, if he wins at least 9 games a year, runs a clean program, and brings in kids who respect team, school, and the game, I'm okay with it. I'm just not as convinced as you and others that is what he'll do but next year with the majority of the players his recruits, we'll see.

That seems like quite a lofty standard. Basically a minimum .700 winning percentage, that Purdue or most schools have never been able to sustain.

Well, you can expect less and be happy with it. He's making more money than most of his peers, so his results should mirror that paycheck....but to date, they haven't.

Again, a ridiculous assertion considering what he started with. He took Purdue from being one of the worst programs in the BIG to being competitive basically every week and winning bowl games in year 1 - not year 4. HE beat three ranked teams this year including #2. His recruiting is among the best Purdue has EVER had.

I don't understand why you're so fixated on what he's paid. He's being paid market value. If you want to win 9 games a year with a BIG schedule these days you have to pay up. That's the facts.
