As I somewhat expected, the BYU loss last night to Gonzaga did not move the needle as to where they sit in Lunardi's bracket. They are still right behind Purdue and are in the play in game. A win would have undoubtedly leapfrogged them over Purdue (at least according to Lunardi so take that with a grain of salt).
While it's early, I don't see any of the lower conferences stealing bids away but with the meat of the schedule not really starting until tomorrow, there's still a lot of opportunity for teams to rise and fall from their present positions.
Two games I'm interested in keeping an eye on. Both in the SEC: LSU against Miss. State/Auburn/TAMU and OleMiss against SCAR/Missouri . Both LSU and OleMiss are listed ahead of Purdue in Lunardi's bracket so a loss by either or both could give Purdue some additional "breathing" room. LSU has the double bye but lost twice to TAMU, lost at MSU and split with Auburn. Regardless of whom LSU faces, they may have their work cut out for them. OleMiss has a win over both SCAR and Missouri but has lost three of their last four games, closing out the season with a home loss to Vandy.
