Burke or Glass?

What's so bad about Glass? Wilson was and has been a good hire for them.

Not so much the tan clapper, but you can't win em all

What has Wilson done that's so good? How's his B10 record? And if they finally go to a bowl, he has the scheduling guru's to thank for the Terps and Boilers at the end to save his ass.

You said it,brother. If IU wins their next 21 games,He will be right at .500 as the Hoosier coach.

Which school has the worst AD?
It hasn't translated to much success but...I must admit their marketing is a heck of lot better than ours. Tv, radio, print , billboards - at least they have a presence.
Other than that though....nada

Glass has improved IUs football program since he took over, Burke has not. Case closed.

At the school with an all-time winning percentage of .420, by far the worst in Big Ten history but a mark far above the reach of its past five coaches, just where do you see improvement?

Cam Cameron 1997–01 5 18 37 0 .327 12 28 0 .300
Gerry DiNardo 2002-04 3 8 27 0 .229 3 21 0 .125
Terry Hoeppner 2005-06 2 9 14 0 .391 4 12 0 .250
Bill Lynch, 2007-2010 4 19 30 0 .388 6 26 0 .188
Kevin Wilson 2011-15 5 19 40 0 .322 7 32 0 .179

During Burke's reign, Purdue has won the Big Ten football championship and made 12 bowl appearances.

For Fat Fred, the only bowl appearance is what students see off campus, visiting people who have plumbing.

If both were fired today, Glass left the IU football program better than he found it, and Burke would leave the Purdue football program worse than he found it.

The role of the athletic director is to enable your coaches. While Wilson doesn't have the best record overall, you could argue Indiana is playing top 20 type teams more straight up and not getting blown off the field. Where Glass has been helpful is trying to drive interest in the program and has opened up more funds for the program. He brought more money to the table for Wilson to keep Greg Fey (OL Coach) and not have him leave. Since Glass has taken over attendance is up, the facilities have improved, he listens to fans (i.e. No home games started at Noon EST this year), and has generally tried to help the program. I don't agree with everything Glass does and can't speak to Burke really, but Glass is at least giving me visible evidence of him trying to help. I think he has made some mistakes as an AD, but I feel he is trying in his own way to make a difference.

Your stock answers just don't match the facts. The coach that Fat Fred hired now has a winning percentage of .322. His immediate predecessor had a winning percentage of .388. Even a product of the Kelly Girl Skool of Biznuss can tell you that is one big step backwards.

Hell, Burke even has a better law degree.

Glass didn't hire Crean-Greenspan did on his way out of Bloomington. Glass did hire Todd Yeagley, who brought IU another title in men's soccer. IU baseball has also become a powerhouse and, so far, Wilson looks like a better hire than Hazell. Advantage Fred Glass.

How much revenue has Yeagley and Wilson brought to the IU coffers? Personally, I don't think either AD is worth what they're making.

If revenues are what you want to argue, then it's not even a question. The only meaningful driver of AD revenues (outside of the BTN money) is football. And IUFB ticket sales have been on a gradual rise ever since Glass took over. Meanwhile Purdue tickets have been going the other direction and fan apathy is so bad many people predict IU fans filling more seats in RA this Saturday that Purdue. I doubt that actually happens, but I don't think the gap between the two fanbases is going to be that large.

Interesting term regarding IU -- enabling -- as in providing the environment where a leading tackler becomes a heroin dealer or a line (pardon the expression) of athletes show up regularly in arrest reports for drug and alcohol abuse, not to mention operating while intoxicated.

Yes, let's all raise a Glass to that enabling.

Speaking of BTN, Burke was one of the founding fathers back while Fat Fred was still begging pardon of benches.

Burke was a founding father of the Big Ten Network? So in addition to him overseeing the debacle that is Purdue football right now, he's also to blame for the fact that every single fanbase in the conference has to pay extra money to see the early-season basketball games?! Thanks Burke and BTN!

You want to compare winning percentages of Colletto (who Burke inherited) and Hazell? Really?

Hazell's is under .200: you lose.
