Morgan Burke is an idiot. What progress has been made that he is willing to keep Hazell for another season? Is winning one Big Ten home game enough to satisfy him? Is he so cheap that he isn't willing to pay the 6.6 million to buy Hazell's contract out? What a joke.

Seriously...like I could understand if we went from 1 to 3 to 4 or 5 wins. But my goodness, we don't look remotely better than we did when Hazell started. What progress have we seen? There's really nothing to point to. Recruiting is actually getting worse!

This is a full on $hitshow. The sad thing is, when the "leak" occurred about him staying after the Nebraska, everyone moved on. Then another horrible performance and people were on him again. Now we have another "he's staying" story, so people will probably shut up again and move on.

You don't want to root against Purdue, but Burke is almost making me do it because I know the only chance of them having the balls to do anything is if they lose the rest of their games. Hell, I can't even imagine winning 1 of them and we're excited for next year! Jesus.

I read just enough to see that he once again used all the same phrases he has been repeating for the PAST SEVEN YEARS. Need more time...young kids...only 4 seniors on both sides of the ball...inconsistent play...in it for the long run...blah, blah, blah. Reality suggests otherwise - the worst 3-year run in the modern history of the program, first time Purdue will have lost 3 consecutive games to the Hoosiers since the 50s, recruits de-committing at an alarming rate, obvious coaching issues, no fans in the stands, etc.

I am curious to know if he really believes what he says or is he just so arrogant that he does not care what others think. I did not see the video - did he shake his fists in the convincing manner he was taught for his middle school persuasion speech?

Tiller took a 3-8 team and in YEAR ONE made it 9-3. This is the same coach that Burke grossly underpaid and whose assistants Burke allowed to flee for competitive salaries. The same coach Burke forced to participate in his STUPID coach in transition program. The same coach whose advice regarding his replacement Burke ignored.

The good new is that Burke will soon be gone, and hopefully his sane replacement will restore football and women's basketball to their historical performance levels. There are no good reasons for these programs to be so ineffective.

The whole thing was a scripted joke. Softball questions and Burke obviously reading from notes. He has no clue how to right the ship and he and Hazell are just riding things out to a handsome paycheck. Dead men walking. Might have less than 20K fans in the seats for games next year.

I could argue the schedule year 1 was harder with ND over VT. OSU. A better UW.

Gentilement, the truth is that Burke doesn't have ANY incentive to win on the football field. The BTN contribution of $40+ Million / year, negates the need for fans, fan approval or even competitive athletes. He is so advanced he doesn't need or give a crap about performance, he no long has to compete, he only has to siphon off the cash.... Purdue athletics has become a parasite.

This isn't Burke's decision. He's a delivery boy. This is Daniels and the BOT pulling the strings. Either they've run the numbers and decided that this is the least bad outcome financially or they are playing for time.

Purdue's budget is not good right now. They've been bleeding money for a little while now. It's only getting worse.
