It's one thing to be chippy with the media and give petulant answers like "Z-E-R-O" if you are, say, Bob Knight, and have put every possible trophy you can win in the trophy case. But after the last few seasons we have endured, this and his discussion of football tactics in a manner strongly implying or outright saying that we Knuckleheads don't know what we are talking about is incredible. The only thing he didn't do is accuse those of us who can clearly see that Hazell can't coach at this level of being racists.

I think of Michigan's interim AD Hackett, who actually played for Bo Schembechler. He has forgotten more about college football than Burke will ever know. Yet you did not hear him talking schemes, etc. in press conferences concerning the search for a new coach or after Harbaugh was hired. I sincerely doubt he was sticking his nose in at practice and constantly in Harbaugh's ear about schemes and tactics. Burke claims he's not a football expert, but you can tell he thinks he is. Basically, the difference between somebody like Hackett and somebody like Burke is the difference between a professional and a dilettante. And it shows.

It's readily apparent that Burke burns when he thinks about "the fanbase" as he called it and takes pride in giving it the metaphorical finger so as to express his disdain for we ignorant rubes. Well, keep it up, Morgan, and you won't have a fanbase to insult anymore. I'm sure you'll make a wonderful greeter for the Michigan, OSU, MSU, and Nebraska fans who turn Ross-Ade Stadium into virtual home games. We ain't buyin' what you're sellin'.

A man's gotta know his limitations.

Obviously Burke has no clue, he is a legend in his own mind,

Remember Hope's dumb "Futuristic Recruiting" approach. I am virtually certain that was one of Burke's hairbrain ideas.

This overconfident swimmer is way too involved in a tough sport he cannot comprehend. Between Hope and Hazell, he found two coaches who would allow him to meddle. The results have been disastrous.

I'm sure that's what will happen at the end of the NEXT season, as MB wants to save one last excuse. Although in the back of my mind since DH came along at the end of the Cordova era an affirmative action mandate to MB is not beyond the realm of possibility.

Professor - It wouldn't surprise me if one factor in Coach Hazell's hiring and lack of firing is his race. If we were truly a color blind society, such things would be considered racist but sadly we have not reached that level. The real world is quite a different place, College football is entertainment where fans pay to watch the team play. Burke and Hazell can flip every fan off and as long as they get lots of money from BTN and Butts in the seat, they don't have to give a dang. Until the Revenue stream is threatened, they can field any team they want.

Dec.3- Western Kentucky athletic director Todd Stewart:
“The way I try to look at it is, if somebody’s interested in our coach, that means we’re having a great season, and that’s a good problem to have. If you go three to five years and nobody’s interested in your people, then maybe you don’t have the right people.”

Seems to me the revenue stream has to be hurting since everytime I see a PU game on TV (which wasn't often) the stadium was far from full.
