Predict the attendance for the Bucket game! Let's see: no students, coming off 2 road games, holiday weekend, and a meaningless game for at least one team.
Box score says there was 40200 yesterday...and that was homecoming and a beautiful day for football.

My prediction is official attendance of 23000.

You are probably being generous. If IU loses their next two games also,I wouldn't be surprised if less than 20,000 are there.

Totally depends on how they count it. They've technically sold the tickets for the students, whether they show up or not.

The Bucket game still gets decent attendance no matter what because of all of the Purdue/IU family combos, in addition to IU fans being there. It's also a family weekend.

If Purdue had another home game against a Rutgers or Minnesota, I wouldn't be surprised to see a number under 30k.

What was actual attendance like yesterday? Big ten network didn't have many shots of crowd. At the end of game it looked pretty skimpy.

More than that is paid. There was an uptick in sales this year so people have put in $30-$45 a ticket plus licensing fees. It will hurt the secondary market and the guys selling outside.

Listed attendance was 40,000ish.

I'd estimate that most places inflate their attendance by 5-10%. I guarantee you the Nebraska game attendance was under 30,000 - yet they will never list an attendance that low.

After getting blown out yesterday and predicted losses upcoming to NW and Iowa, unless IU is playing for a bowl, then I expect 30k or less depending on weather. People are doing other things with family during Thanksgiving weekend, who wants to waste it on this slop?

There were not 20,000 at the Nebraska game, and that was including at least 5,000 Nebraska fans. As mentioned, Purdue lists the tickets sold opposed to attendance so that they can include student numbers (even though those are not even genuine football tickets sold). Next year they will not have a choice with respect to listing attendance that low, as even using the inflated figures will be less than 25,000.

In all honestly, it will be hard for me to justify going to the IU game unless I get teased by a shocking win by the team in Evanston or Iowa. As much as people get on the coaches, the players were absolutely terrible yesterday from top to bottom. I don't want to waste even a half of an afternoon of my time watching players who don't give a f***. Much rather go to a bar and watch some really teams play or just stay on my coach and have control of the remote.

I have never been into the bucket game that much. Its really a total mute point of a game at this stage of Purdue football Life. If we win, so what? If we lose, so what? When the players consistently give two f***s again, I will as well.

I honest to God hope the attendance is well under 20,000.

My favorite play of the day yesterday was on one of Illinois' longer runs, an Illini WR was blocking a Purdue player and they were pushing back and forth....and as the Illini RB went by, the Purdue player made no effort to tackle or pursue the RB - but just chose to shove around with the Illinois player. Forget who it was. I guess when you suck at tackling, pushing around another player and talking trash is more entertaining.

If it was up to me, I would like to see 00,000 as the attendance. That would send a real message if no one showed up for the game. This is the only way in which things might change at Purdue. But, then again I doubt it..... Purdue administration is pretty hard headed, blind, and they have their heads buried in the sand..... We have not had a good AD since Guy "Red" Mackey.....

Iowa should run all over us.

The message wouldn't be received. The AD is too arrogant to listen.

I would like to see Kohler or Moen donate a giant bronze toilet for this game.
That's the only bowl either will sniff this year.
You won't see any IU fans at this game unless they are high and have nothing better to do.
This might be a good, competitive game....in the MAC. I can assure you, though, IU is no threat. They are in the tank mentally.

IU should be playing for bowl eligibility. With that being the case, and an almost certain win, I would expect a good turnout of IU fans (10,000).

I will donate a bet to the JPC if IU were to win 2 more games. There is 0% chance of that happening. Not. Going.To.Happen.
I know you may not believe it but IU is the worst team of all 14. There's no debate. They will get trounced at Maryland and Purdue. All the while, Wilson will tell everyone how "close we are" as he goes 0-8 over the remainder of the season. His teams are a reflection of his coaching, which is a frenetic, chaotic, undisciplined mess.

Keep in mind also that with the balanced calendar being used by a lot of Indiana school districts now, that a lot of kids have the entire week of Thanksgiving off. Hence, I will be on a beach while that "football game" is being played.

I think in their minds that is where our coaching staff is for every game.

If they moved the start time of the basketball game up, that would be how many would be missing from Ross-Ade certainly. If IU loses to Michigan and Maryland, the basketball attendance may actually exceed that for the football game that afternoon.
