from ESPN and Eamonn Brennan has been updated.

Fairly short blurb on most of the bubble teams but a fairly lengthly tome when he got to Purdue.

I may have to shoot off an e-mail to him regarding his comment on Illinois loss to Wisconsin. He wrote "Is it possible to be impressed by a team on the wrong end of a 68-49 loss? Illinois came close Sunday. For one, the game was at Wisconsin, and if Wisconsin plays well in its own building (and it almost always does), a blowout is almost guaranteed."

Well, if that's the litmus test, then how does he feel about a team that was within a couple of possessions until 17 seconds left in the contest. It certainly wasn't a blowout when Purdue played Wisconsin in Madison. Outside of Duke, no team has played Wisconsin closer in Madison than the Boilers.

Actually, the most interesting points in the article were about the mock selection committee and it sounds like there won't be any hard and fast rules about what they will and won't consider come selection Sunday. Some may consider RPI, some may consider recent results, some may consider "body of work", some may use the "eye test" and some, and this is where I took notice, may consider teams with "star players".

Purdue and Hammons performance last night on national, prime time TV may pay more dividends than we'll ever know.
