Article says he committed over the summer. Must have been one of those bat signals that had no player announced.
I don't think he has publicly made an announcement. It sounds like he already has his mind made up though....

Exactly. Maybe this reporter doesn't really give a damn about scoops or recruiting websites or anything that you didn't have to care about a bunch of years ago. Somehow he knows that Austin is coming here, maybe he thought it was public knowledge, and added it to his story. Non-issue.
I said it was shitty to out the story because the kid hasnt had a chance to make his announcement public. Dont care about scooping the recruiting sites (he didnt).

That's what I thought. It sounds like Austin openly talked about his commitment and the reporter thought it was good to go.
The way the article is written it talks as if Austin is telling him he’s going to Purdue and why. If this is true then it’s great news. It kind of stinks for him if he had some special commitment announcement but then again he probably shouldn’t have talked to a reporter about it.
