Announcers seem to be overworking the fact that the top recruits in the State of Indiana go elsewhere to play football. Neither PU nor IU have any of the top five recruits. Best Purdue mention is an Avon receiver who looks good but is coming to Purdue to play baseball.

I was hopeful Hazel could reverse this trend after Hope's "futuristic recruiting strategy" focused on Florida. Unfortunately this has not been the case. Best basketball players in the state have also been leaving. Swanigan is a major reversal of that. Purdue football cannot be strong again until it keeps strong IN kids instate.

Completely agree with this. I remember one year ('02?) where we got the top 8 ranked players in the state. I'm pretty sure it was Pollard's class. We have to get back to something close to that.

If I remember right Jim Chaney was the r/c for Tiller those good years. Purdue needs to recruit the northern part of the state and south side of Chicago heavy every year.
