It appears that we will end up with quite a few KY recruits in Coach Brohms initial recruiting class. Maybe more KY players over the next couple years than previous PU coaches ever went after. This is no surprise and makes alot of sense simply based on Brohms background. With that said, who was the best bluegrass football player to ever don the old gold and black?

If somebody says Bob DeMoss you are automatically disqualified!

Bob Baltzell -HB on 67' Rose Bowl Team was from L'Ville but you are correct Chuck Kyle was an All-American. PU basketball has probably had more notable players over the years out of KY than football?

Bob lived across the hall from me as a freshman. Great guy. He later worked at INB.

I'm from Cincy. Was shocked when he committed to Purdue
His Dad was a good player for Kentucky. His cousin was coached by Chris Collinsworth at Highlands for track and cross country. Great Family!

There is a lot of good HS football being played in the state of Kentucky. I coached there for a while and saw a lot of really good talent go through. It is a wise move to take some guys from there every year as it is a bordering state and will produce some good talent. Brohm's connections there are obvious and he will utilize them to the best of his ability. Couple that with some Indiana guys and then his roots in the southeast, I think we can manage some balanced and capable recruiting classes with some more time to establish them.

Who was the lineman we got from Highlands? Decent starter.

I remember an OL from St Xavier and wasn't there a DL from KY who in the Kansas State game caused a fumble and recovered it in the endzone or a TD.
