Bridges

I didn't understand why he didn't go pro last year. He would have been a top pick. He decided to stay and any long term injury here would be awful. When he went down, I thought it was a concussion at first. He just went limp and then rolled over. It was a nasty fall. MSU needs him to be healthy and dominant. They were hyped last year and fell well short. If he misses extended time, it could be more of the same. Hopefully, it's a quick heal and it doesn't affect his draft status.

Who do you think gets to guard him next season? Vince or Dakota? Could allow Dakota to guard him and roll help from the backside when he attempts to post up. Might be an intriguing matchup if CMP can get Nojel up to speed because at 6’6 and roughly 225, he had the bulk and athleticism to stick with him.

IMHO, with MSU, you have to make their guards beat you. To me, that is still their weakest area.

Exactly. Make Tum Tum and Winston shoot. Put good off ball defender like Mathias on Langford/McQuaid.

What potentially worries me most about MSU is keeping Bridges, JJJ, and Ward off the offensive glass if those 3 play together a lot.

A lot of guessing here by me since I'm not sure what MSU will do as they sort out their players and styles. It appeared to me that Bridges being a horse on the boards prefers the perimeter and with Shilling, Ward and ??? along with JJJ playing inside (and JJJ outside some)...I'm guessing two of them are low and suspect that Bridges plays teh perimeter mostly, drives teh ball and works the boards. Purdue will keep Haas inside, vince on JJJ and Dakota trying to prevent Bridges frm getting touches on the perimeter, frt as you suggest on the blocks and bring help with Haas or whoever the big is in position to help. Obviously it is important for the other big not helping to crash the boards as well as the weakside guard. On the flip side who guards the third perimeter player on Purdue? Is Purdue is a threat to stroke it...and possibly push it a few times on O?

Like most games a bit of contrast on talent and so which team sets the tempo and style. MSU will have at least one player playing that will be on the blocks all the time I suspect. Assuming what we saw last year is still pretty much what we will see...Ward will be low, Schilling will be low as they sub for each other and it seems like another player was hurt that was a low post player. JJJ I assume will have the freedom and will float outside an inside. How does the what we don't fully know yet...Haarms fit into this?

I suspect this game goes a LONG way to determining the Big winner and Purdue will have a tough schedule in the Big...and this game is at MSU where Tony Jones was publicly raped by Stephens in the Breslen opener years ago...it will be on national TV as teh game of the week I suspect and one of the top games of the year
