Bridesmaid or Bride

Will Painter and the Purdue BB Program win a coveted recruit battle this weekend? It would be nice if we can break the trend of being a nice 2nd...last loser!

I'll say bride since we're going against Cal, now if it was between us and say Arizona, I'd say bridesmaid.

My money is on Cal. Not sure we're even Bridesmaid. And, does it really matter? One of my sources says MSU and I'm hearing that the Gold and Black guys believe he's heading to Cal. With him announcing out there...it sort of makes sense. I'm not feeling good about this....again.

Now there is the real crux of the situation.......when you aren't up to bat it is hard to get a hit......For years I have watched Purdue recruiting, and it seems like it is a rarity that Painter goes to war for a Top 40 guy, when IMO he really needs to be involved in one of these guys who fits our system EVERY year.....only then will he land one of these guys every so often.

Announcing for Cal in Oregon is like announcing for Purdue in Washington DC. Let's cool it on reading into things.

Unless of course I'm reading into it that he's signing with us. Then, yes, you want us reading the hell out of that. LOL You guys are a funny bunch sometimes. If you don't put a positive spin on something, you're not wanting to hear it. LOL.

But being a realist, you would never do that.

And if it isn't something negative you totally dismiss it. But your hypocritical that way anyway.

How is Cal even remotely a good "business decision?"

Even with Rabb and Swanigan, they're still a middling Pac-12 team where Rabb will be the showpiece. Pac-12 only sent four schools to the tourney.

If they add Jaylen Brown they would be a Pac-12 champ contender, but Swanigan will be the third option.

At Purdue, he could immediately be the center of our offense on a Top 25 team.

Except for when I say the more big men declaring from UK the more I think AJ returns. IMO....he stays for his Sr year.

We'll be pretty solid next year. 7 of our top 8 return and we get some injured players back.

Jabari Bird, former McDs All American has yet to have a healthy season but looked good late last year. Tyrone Wallace, first team AP12 guard returns as well as the P12s top 3 point shooter, Jordan Mathews. Those three plus two 7 foot sophomores on top of Rabb and Swanigan is a very, very good team. Pac 12 only had four teams in the tourney because the committee got it wrong. Look at how well they performed. Stanford won the NIT as well. Underrated conference last year.

No doubt it's a bolt of lighting for us to be signing these kids given our lack of pedigree and having missed the tourney the past two seasons but Rabb and Swanigan know they are walking into a deep, talented and experienced team that's really just missing some interior scoring and rebounding.

Very sad to read that Painter and Purdue did not win another recruiting battle for an Indiana kid to MSU AGAIN! He has to become one heck of a coach to reverse this damaging trend and bring in some Assistant Coaches to help him both on the court and in the recruiting battles. When you continually lose your home state, you have lost!

Let's just fire Painter and get it over with. He will never win these battles and will never be more than a once a decade B1G champion and occasional sweet 16 coach. It's time to move on.

Good God shut up already. You have NO CLUE whether Painter will make it the FF or whether he will "win" these battles or not. None of us do and your constant 12-year old girl whining about it on here doesn't change that FACT.

One this also for sure and I have speculated for a while, you are no Boiler. You never have been and never will be and I will never make the mistake of taking you off of ignore again. You got me on thinking you were actually capable of a coherent thought .. I should of known better.

All that really matters right now is AJ returning. That should be our focus. That is the next big news. Swanigan is gone for whatever reason.

apparently purdue was neither.
who knows how accurate since they were wrong on who was being picked in the first place, but according to this purdue was behind

Sounds like he may have finally gotten over the hump and I am glad for Painter and I must say I never asked for him to be fired just to make some changes.....not happy to just read that Biggie will NOT sign an LOI and MAY NOT be able to enroll in summer school due to some possible basketball commitments so until he does enroll my understanding of the rules is without a signed LOI and no enrollment he is free to change again...a tough spot for Painter and Purdue to be in again!

Like I said I hate to see Painter and Purdue put in that scenario but it may just play out that way and EVERYONE will have to hold their breaths until he enrolls this summer hopefully, or in the fall!

Pardon my facts but until BIGGIE what Indiana kid did Painter successfully recruit that either IU, Mich, ND or MSU was actively recruiting? Harris, Zellers, Dawson, etc, in our BIg 3 year only one was actively pursued by one of those and he ended up transferring there! Ignore me and the facts if you wish but I have been to more Purdue Football and Basketball games in my lifetime that you could ever hope to attend and watched the few that I could not on TV since the early 60's.

Leave it to the haters to crap all over getting Biggie in some fashion. And I love the whole I've-done-more-whatever-than-you-ever-will stuff since you have no idea who any of us on here are or what we've done. Just proves the point when you resort to that really.

Oh and BBG is overseas so I would doubt he will even see or respond to your post. But sinec he is a brother-in-arms I am most certainly going to stand up for him.

Not saying that's not possible Jack. Just trying to enjoy the moment. I remember when Mike Robinson was McDonald's AA. He and Jaraan Cornell were Parade AA that year. That was a big deal back then. Glenn was even farther ago. So it's a good feeling to have now. That's all big fella.
Btw, I started watching with my Dad when Mount, Keller, Gilliam, Bavis, etc. were there. I still can see RM hit the falling out of bounds baseline shot vs Marquette to win the game. Good times.
