I didn't see the article but I'm guessing you're making a big deal out of nothing. I doubt he showed up to the signing day event or anything. I would congratulate any friend or relative who was able to get a scholarship to play for Michigan, and they are my favorite team to beat in the Big Ten. Given the state of our program, I don't blame anyone for not wanting to play here. The lineman that decommitted and ended up at Stanford made a great personal decision. Sure it sucks for our team, but I don't think we should be offended and it's surely not a "kick in the dick" to us fans.
He was at the Signing Day event in AA from my understanding. The event was also to raise money for pediatric cancer research, so there was more to it then just supporting UM recruits. FWIW - they raised over 100K.
He was not at the event itself. He recorded a message that was shown on a video at the event. A lot of Michigan fans were wondering why also...don't know his personal background but have to guess he has some tie to the cause.
I think he and Tom Brady are buds. Brady told him about the event to raise some coin and Drew said he's help out.
