One thing I have found myself doing over the years is always checking in on how our Boilermakers are doing when they make it to the next level. This NFL Season has been a pretty solid one for our former Boilermakers. I find myself still sad that I don't get to etch out 3 hours of my Sunday to watch Drew Brees and his New Orleans Saints, but, at the mid-point of the NFL season, I am starting to get over it.. somewhat.

Anyway, here is how our guys are fairing in the NFL thus far.

Active Players:

Rondale Moore - WR - Arizona Cardinals (Starting WR)

- Rondale played pretty well in week 8. He caught 7 of 8 targets for 92 yards and a touchdown. PFF graded him at 62.6. He had one of the more memorable touchdowns of his young NFL career with this great catch and run.

Markus Bailey - LB - Cincinnati Bengals (2nd String LB)
- Markus has started in 1 game this season but has appeared in all 8 for the Bengals. He is a warrior for their special team's units. Over the course of the year, he has 12 total tackles.

David Bell - WR - Cleveland Browns (Starting Slot WR)
-
David Bell was in for 34 of the 71 plays last night for the Browns. He tallied 2 catches for 27 yards. He had his 2nd highest PFF grade of the year, grading out

Anthony Brown - CB - Dallas Cowboys (Starting CB)
-
Anthony Brown has been the corner for the Cowboys, for what seems like forever. He started across from Trevon Diggs at cornerback in a victory over the Chicago Bears, he played 73 of 78 plays.

Dennis Kelly - LT - Indianapolis Colts (Starting LT)
-
The Colts revolving door now lands on our former Boilermaker, Dennis Kelly. He is the 3rd left tackle this season that the Colts have tried. I will say, he has been decently successful there, while the Indianapolis Colts Offense continues to struggle. Kelly graded out at 63.8%, which is good for the 5th-best grade on the Colts Offense.

George Karlaftis - DE - Kansas City Chiefs (Starting DE)
-
GK is one of the best young Defensive Ends in the NFL, as you all know. At one point this season, he leads all rookies in quarterback pressures and hurries. The Chiefs were on a bye this week, through the mid-point of the season, GK has 14 tackles and .5 sacks.

Zander Horvath - FB - Los Angeles Chargers (Starting FB)
-
Horvath caught the attention of many early in the season when had a couple of early touchdowns in the first two weeks of the season. Since then, the Chargers and Zander have been pretty quiet. The Chargers were also on a bye this week, Zander has four catches for two touchdowns.. scoring half of the time he catches the ball, maybe they should throw it his way more often!

Derrick Barnes - LB - Detroit Lions (2nd String LB)
- Barnes appears to go in and out of the starting lineup. Currently, the Lions list him as the backup Middle Linebacker. This week the Lions played in a competitive game against the Dolphins. Barnes totaled 4 tackles in the game, while only playing 18 of the 68 eligible snaps. He was the 6th highest graded Lions defensive player, as Pro Football Focus graded him as 64.5%.

Raheem Mostert - RB - Miami Dolphins (Starting RB)
- New place, same old Raheem. He started the season as the backup running back for the Dolphins, but he has found his way into the starting lineup since about week 4. Raheem still has that homerun capability and is one of the fastest players in the NFL. He is having a great first year in Miami.

Ja'Whaun Bentley - LB - New England Patriots (Starting LB)
-
Bentley played on 38 of 59 eligible snaps for the Patriots this weekend and played fantastic. Pro Football Focus graded him as one of the highest defensive players of the week in the NFL and was the highest graded Patriot on defense as well, he graded at 78.5%. Bentley has been a starter since the day he arrived in New England and continues to shine there.

DeMarcus Mitchell - DE - New England Patriots (2nd String DE)
-
Mitchell did not log a snap this past weekend, but he continues to impress in New England. He was an UDFA and has worked his way onto the two deep.

Jordan Roos - LG - Tennessee Titans (2nd String LG)
-
Jordan Roos has been with 4 NFL Teams since 2017 when he signed with Seahawks as a UDFA. But, he has been the backup Left Guard in Tennessee for two years now and is looking to stay put. Run blocking for a future Hall of Famer would be a pretty sweet gig.

Practice Squad:

Tyler Coyle - SS - Dallas Cowboys

Grant Hermanns - OT - Miami Dolphins

David Blough - QB - Minnesota Vikings
