Even if we can match money with most people, there are programs that can provide him an opportunity we can't. Like Florida and the ability to be right in the middle of a recruiting hotbed like Florda. Just depends on what he wants in the end. He can probably stay at Purdue for 20+ years if he can take us to a bowl game 3 out of every 4 years or so. It may be difficult for him to chase a national championship here, but not impossible. When you go to Florida, though, SEC championships and CFP invites are in the short-term expectations. If you're not knocking on that door within a few seasons, they are looking for the next guy.If he beats Ohio state lets throw the bank at him.
I think other teams forget that Purdue is a big ten team with big ten money. They act like we are Indiana state..
To that point he is making about the same as USC was paying Helton. I bet that would surprise a lot of people. If he beats Ohio state lets throw the bank at him.

“Fans”.To that point he is making about the same as USC was paying Helton. I bet that would surprise a lot of people.
I get that MAC schools can't get too attached to their coaches, but you'd think at Purdue we could at least enjoy a few successful seasons before these rumors start flying. I mean, hell, we still had fans calling for his head a couple weeks ago.
And Mullen’s buyout is $12 million on top of that.People forget that his massive buyout goes both ways. A school would have to pony up big time dollars to us to get him out of his contract.
He already makes like $6mil all in from what I’ve seen.
Don’t think that Florida would be willing to pay that to a coach with a pretty mediocre record. I don’t even think Mullen makes that much more than that.
Actually I think Nebraska fans are slowly starting to get it. On their board yesterday in a seemingly surprised tone, one of them was like “the big 8 was a two team conference. One big game a year. The big ten is full of really good coaches.”This article is such a Nebraska take. "The Big Ten West is terrible, but can someone please hire Brohm away from Purdue?!"
hmm... I don't know. I've been hearing a lot about how next year's schedule is so much easier, and I'm already seeing 9+ win predictions based on how "close" Nebraska was this year.Actually I think Nebraska fans are slowly starting to get it. no shit dude lol. I never thought it would take any big ten fan base until this Monday to BEGIN to realize that 😂😂😂
“you mean in 2021 even Purdue can have nice things??” Yes! Lol

Watch the last ten to fifteen minutes of that lol wow. They get into how Nebraska will basically be depleted on defense and about the same or worse on offense..
These guys so think about programs too much in terms of tradition but they are usually very realistic about Nebraska. One of them picked Purdue to beat them one barely picked Nebraska to beat Purdue.
one of them said about the Ohio state game “that was a win Purdue could easily have gotten” and the other one agreed.
at the end one of them starts calling frosts return “a really dumb idea” abs he just lays into it .. and these guys aren’t really Debbie Downers or homers .. it’s pretty hilarious to listen to. It sounds like what we wound have sounded like if hazell was still around in 2017 and we all heard he was coming back for 2018 lol.
I wasn’t comparing frost to hazell as much as talking about the feeling of an obviously bad coach returningFrost is an upgrade from Hazell. Hazell won like 4 games total. He was an order of magnitude worse.
