Dear Mr. Bobinski, our football program has been a mess for several years now. Please help us. You can start by looking for a replacement coach asap. Until that happens and Purdue starts winning games again, the fans will not come. Please help us.

Sincerely,
Purdue football fans

Good luck with that he is not a football guy. And thanks for taking him. Wish Y'all the best.
Georgia Tech
Yall just lost 2 AD in 3 years one moved up the other went lateral... Maybe just maybe Georgia Tech should be worried. It sounds like the President or the BoT just kept the purse strings to tight. You wanted to add emphasis to basketball, but without adding an extra investment. So he added emphasis on basketball and you act like he ignored football. Nope he was doing what you told him with what you gave him.

Prepare to be a revolving door for ADs which will bleed down to coaches not wanting to stay.

I completely doubt that fabricated story. Yall are pretty dumb, I mean IU may be able to pay for 3 basketball coaches, but tech isn't. He didn't want to financial screw over the school so he had to wait a year.

I usually can find the good in every administrator, coach, etc.

However, I have been begging for him to leave the past two years. He has zero personality and operates in hiding....does not respond to phone calls or emails from alums...does not engage others including his own team. He was the complete opposite of our prior AD who was a growth and change agent. Simply put....he is not an out front leader that builds relationship to secure donations.

...and he is not a football guy at all...which may be fine up there as the out of control spending on recruiting is mostly confined to SEC schools plus Clemson and FSU. We have to deal with those moron's to get players, plus find those that can read and write.

He is an old school executive that operates behind closed doors. Hopefully he has learned and will change for you guys. People can learn and change. I wish nothing but the best for Mike and for Purdue.

Basketball pales in comparison with football at Tech. Bobinski is a basketball guy. You guys may love him, but the lights were too bright for him at Tech as far as football. He was not up to the task.

I've read that he's a basketball guy and he wasn't the most visible on campus. What did he do specifically that hurt your football program? I don't follow the ACC that closely, but I always thought you guys were solid at football. I'm not sure a bad season can be blamed entirely on the AD, especially when that same coach has had success. Did he put all resources and effort to basketball? You mention he can't secure donations- did they drop significantly in the time he was there?

Do you guys not like Pastner? I thought it was a great pick up at the time and it seems like you guys got some decent recruits.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Pastner will be a wait and see.
I don't think anyone said the AD was the blame for last years football season. That had more to due with all the injuries and having 14 freshman starting. The AD was blamed for not doing anything that was asked of him ( improvements to the weight room and locker room plus a few more things) . The last things done was by D Rad who is now at Clemson.
I hope he works out for Y'all he just didn't here.
If you talk to people you can raise money at Tech, here is one example:

We do like Josh Pastner. Hopefully he turns out to be a good hire. I wish you guys luck with Robinsky. Purdue and Ga Tech share similar problems. High academics and not a particularly large student population. This makes competing with the football factory schools a challenge.

Who asked him to improve the weight and locker room? But pretty much everything I have seen is the GT just doesn't give its AD the budget to do all the things that you guys want. Poor previous leadership led to yall wanting to fire a bball coach while the previous bball coach was still sunk cost...

GT is basically Purdue without B1G money. Id leave for Purdue too.

Purdue has 39,000 students and 18,000 women its a much bigger party and rah rah school then Tech but both have awesome academics.

I know, right? I feel like even our own alums need a Purdue reality check when I hear things like we are the Georgia Tech of the Big Ten. Here are some facts:
school__undergrad_male%_acceptance
Ga Tech_14682____0.66___0.334
Purdue__29255____0.57___0.592
Indiana__36419____0.49___0.761
Mich St__38786____0.50___0.661
Illinois___32959____0.56___0.59

We are basically U of I.

Good luck MB2!!

"After all, one program that is outside the Big 12, for example, has won just six games in the past three seasons. It hasn't finished a season ranked since 2003 and has enjoyed a double-digit winning season just once, well, ever.

That particular profile, however, doesn't square up with that of Big 12 expansion hopefuls BYU or Houston. Nor does it match Central or South Florida.

In fact, it doesn't even fit Tulane.

The school in question is Purdue, obviously not an expansion candidate, but a member of the Big Ten since before Teddy Roosevelt became president. And on football reputation alone, the Boilermakers don't stack up against many of the candidates the Big 12 is considering for expansion."

Bobinski was the invisible man on campus at GT, and he'll be the same at Purdue! As I said in another post, this AD choice will probably turn out the same as the choice of Hazell as head coach! How has that been working out?

Purdue football is the AP 35th ranked program of all-time. We are right about where we should be as a we have a solid but not elite history and football tradition. Purdue football is known as the Cradle of QB's and DE's. The last 3 years have been historically bad but that should not define over 100 years of tradition.

Your right BoilerBiker, Purdue has a fine football tradition, but unfortunately tradition does win football games! Once a program has fallen as low at Purdue's has, it's a long tough road back to a winning program, and unfortunately the current coach and new AD probably will not be able to restore it to a winning program!

The current coach will be gone in December and if he stays that means we had a decent season so WIN-WIN BTFU!

In regards to expansion, long standing tradition has not always been at the forefront of priorities/reasons (Rutgers, Maryland)

Does anyone know exactly what and why MB couldn't or isn't on campus yet? I hope this doesn't end up with similar results to when Darrell Hazell chose to coach Kent St in a bowl game instead of recruiting. I understand it's apples and oranges but just curious.
