damn shame it didn't come with a win

Maybe a little of both. But every time one QB is injured the starter plays really well. I hope Elijah is ok but it’s time to ditch the rotation, and there’s no way DB isn’t starting against BC.Does this mean more of this is to come or was it a result of playing against a bad defense?
When Purdue failed to complete that sack on Lock,it looked like the defense just stopped for two seconds, then he completed that twenty yarder.Strange.I thought our defense showed some heart and potential at times. Unfortunately they could not stop the field goal drive. If only we could have completed the sack on Lock. Blough played great. Most likely his best game as a Boilermaker. He played at a level I did not know he was capable of. I would make him the full time starter and see how he does. I would ditch the rotation. If Blough doesn't perform, I would wait until the following game to make a switch. Previously it seemed like Blough was playing to not make a mistake. Tonight he was playing to win.
Yeah, it was strange and awful. I think the rest of the guys thought he had him and let up a little. Besides the call reversal, I thought that play was a back breaker. After they got closer to the end zone we should have just let them score so at least we would have had a chance to tie it with some time left on the clock. When Purdue failed to complete that sack on Lock,it looked like the defense just stopped for two seconds, then he completed that twenty yarder.Strange.
He also broke the Big Ten total yards record, per BTN "Final Drive". Impressive to say the least.most passing yards in a single game , 572

And we hardly run the ball, which we had a banner day doing the week before.
If you can't stop an offense, keep them off the field. Running the ball does that. We didn't even try.

Both. Some of those throws we're really good. On the other hand, Mizzou got little pressure rushing four.Does this mean more of this is to come or was it a result of playing against a bad defense?
Lock looked so good, because we put no pressure on him. We made Eastern Michigan's QB look good due to having time to throw. We made NW's QB look good due to the same thing as well.Purdue will win some games.Lets remember that Lock is expected to be a first round pick.I doubt if we face another passer that good all year.Lets not get too down in the dumps, since there are nine more games to play.
We have some amazing D-line recruits coming in next year that will begin to fix things going forward and I hope we add Isaiah Gibson, Cameron Williams, & JJ Weaver to the next class. It may take a couple seasons, but based on next years recruiting class we are heading in the right direction. We will get there.Lets be honest. The only way we will win games this year is to put up about 45 to 50 pts in a game. We are going to have to outscore our opponents. We are not going to pressure the QB until we have pass rushers, which won't happen until Karlaftis steps on campus. With our lack of pass rushers, we have to stop going with a 3 man line on 3rd and long. They made it almost every time due to no pressure..
I'm sure it is tough knowing if you make a mistake you might be replaced? This might make some people tense and not play to their full potential? Maybe blough relaxed more Saturday and got in his grove?I thought our defense showed some heart and potential at times. Unfortunately they could not stop the field goal drive.
