I think we will see big improvements this year.

Fun to see them battling. Not too many teams will even attempt to defend our post players mano a mano. Hopefully they are regularly practicing against the various double teams opponents have become accustomed to throwing at our bigs. Also how to handle being closely guarded by a smaller scrappy player without drawing offensive fouls or turning the ball over, which unfortunately for us has become the equalizer in the post.

Love his focus.......

I know one thing, these guys can't wait to start pounding on others instead of going at each other everyday in practice.

Taylor, Haas and Biggie are going to be a force down low and a handful for people to guard.....

I agree, but I don't think Taylor should even be in the same line as Haas and Biggie, two surefire pro-basketball players, more than likely both in the NBA. Taylor will be a nice change of pace, as a much smaller, quicker player who can step outside and surprise teams with his jump shot, if he gets the minutes and lives up to his potential.

I feel all players are equal and make the team great.......

So I put them all on the same line......

Now some of the fans not so much.....not all true Boilermakers.

Taylor is going to get spot minutes at best and will have a lot of DNP in close games. That statement doesn't make me "less" of a fan than you. It makes me a more realistic one.

Just because you go over the top with your praise of every player it doesn't make you more of a Boilermaker. Your judgment of other posters as less than you gets really old. It's a message board for discussion. dwhitebash made a very legitimate point and because you don't like it you label him less of a "true" fan. Get off your high horse.

Wow someone ass is sore......

I didn't say he was or you were....reread my post.

I said not all fans are the same.....a lesson I learned the hard way.

I used to welcome and say hello to all fans I saw wearing Purdue colors...THEN FOUND OUT THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME.

I didn't name who, but now we know exactly who...assholes like you.

Back on ignore for you dryass
Just what I thought. The last time you told me to go f**k myself when I called you out for judging people less fans than you. I guess if we don't paint our old trucks and go over the top with praise of every player we aren't true fans.

You're right about one thing, we aren't all the same. Some of us are realistic and responsible posters and then there is you. I do find it funny that you always go for the ignore feature but when you are called out somehow you magically see the post. Do you actually know how to use it??

Oh, and Boiler Up!

I will just continue being positive and supporting all our coaches and players.

You can be whoever you want to be......

And yes I know I am a better fan and alumni than you....I would say most on here are better than you....hope that stings, but you deserve it.

Add value or move along skippy....

Wow, talk about coming out of left field. You blind-sided me on that.

I know you're high on Taylor, and have been since the day we recruited him, which is great. I was really high on Smotherman, I have been quoted numerous times on saying he has the most potential of the '13 class, and still have faith in him. He's an energy guy, has had breakout games where he propelled Purdue to a victory, but he's also had games where he's been a no-show, and is afraid to take the outside jumper to take pressure off of Hammons. I believe his only weakness is himself. His lack of confidence which is something that can be hard to overcome.

Went off-topic there a bit, but anyways, Taylor hasn't had the opportunity yet to play, and I believe he's similar to Smotherman in that he's talented, gifted, but may lack the confidence to propel himself into a consistent threat down-low. Especially now being that he's going to have to play up to the potential of our recent bigs, Hammons, Haas, now Biggie. Those are big shoes to fill for the injury riddled, under the radar player that he is.

And I think all players are equal human-beings, until they damage society, but they're not equal in making the team great. That's like saying McKeeman/Toyra/Eifert (if you know who they are) are just as vital to Purdues success as Haas/Edwards/Biggie. It's a ridiculous statement that completely false.

Anyways, I'm glad you bleed black and gold... But damn bro, relax... You act like is someone disagrees with you, they're wrong.

Again my post wasn't an attack on you it was just expressing my opinions back.....
I never said you weren't a good fan, I actually enjoy your posts.....it is others than assume or say I am calling them out.....I don't point fingers at anyone for being negative or a bad fan...they speak up and bring that shame on themselves and make it obvious they have no clue.

All I said was I value them as the same no matter skill level because it is the "Team" or "Purdue Family" who wins...not the individual.

I do feel McKeeman, Eifert and Tommy Luce are as valuable as Biggie, Taylor and the rest...that's just how I think and from my days of being a player and coach.

No one individual is better than the other.....

I get your point they may have better skills, etc, but when in the team concept everyone pulls their weight to make the unit the best it can be.

This is where Painter should get his pat on the back...he has players that believe in each other and in the family atmosphere at Purdue to put the team and Purdue first......

Again I stay 110% positive on Purdue and wish others did too, but it is what it is.....some people like to whine or make excuses...I just support the pieces we have in place and cheer them on to do their best.

My over the top gushing about Taylor is exactly like you state above.....his potential is of the charts and when it is his time to shine and be the leader I feel he will do amazing things and make everyone proud. I love the way he is making Biggie and Haas better and when it is his time, I hope guys behind him push him to be that polished diamond.

I do think he will contribute this year on the floor...he already has contributed as a teammate in practice and making this Purdue Family unit have a strong core and bond.
