My interest level in this game just spiked to see what rotations Painter uses without the guy who truly makes this a big team. We've seen what things look like with Biggie on the bench.. typically Mathias comes in and VE slides over. What will it look like without him for 40 minutes? I think by default we will see at least one of the following tonight: (1) big, big minutes for VE (2) of lot of 4 guard lineup when VE is on the bench (3) real, meaningful PT for TaylorLocal paper this morning said he was a go. It's now being reported via Twitter that he's doubtful. Rest up big fella, we need your passion and enthusiasm down the road.

The starting 5 is not totally unlike last year. Some differences are a more experienced VE who has been playing well (does he get more than his normal minutes?) and having another "traditional 4" in Taylor who gives you the option to put a big lineup on the floor if you want to.Without Swanigan, you're looking at similar line-ups to last year, I'd think. We didn't lose any PF last year…
"Vince Edwards, who started at power forward last season, would presumably move to that spot for the majority of tonight's game if Swanigan can't play. Rapheal Davis could see time at the 3, opening up a lineup spot for Dakota Mathias."
I remember reading the same thing about Vince somewhere too, but it didn't sound serious.I've read some rumors that Vince Edwards is banged up. Anybody know anything about that?
Also, does anyone know if Minnesota has any key injuries for tonight's game?
I am going to say the starting lineup looks like this:
Hammons
Edwards
Mathias
Davis
Thompson
I think inevitably it leads to a spike in minutes for Hammons and Edwards...probably in the 25-30 minute range. The one I think benefits the most from this is Cline as he may get to play more with Edwards (and Davis to an extent) sliding to the 4. Cline could see his minutes jump by 10.
The lineup I would like to see is this one:
Hammons
Edwards
Mathias
Cline
Thompson
In all reality, right now, that's the lineup that probably plays the best team ball on the offensive side. It gives Hammons the chance to really go one on one with his defender with 4 legitimate outside shooting threats.

move Haas to the 5 AJH to the 4. Point. Game. Set. Match.
Please...we just gave up 55% 3 point shooting. It would work fine.
Yeah, that was a chop block if I ever saw.sore knee from woodbury diving at his knees without a foul.

#1 it is. Not sure VE ever sat down in the second half. Couldn't afford to!My interest level in this game just spiked to see what rotations Painter uses without the guy who truly makes this a big team.
