Big surprise, Allen to Louisville

Saw this coming from a million miles away! I’m very pissed that this new head coach seemed to treat Brady very badly. Basically ignored him because he wasn’t one of his recruits. I have a bad feeling about this coach….like it’s going to be Coach Daryl Hazell version 2.0.

The new regime seems to have emphasis on a guy who can scramble and run. Maybe not the first or even 2nd quality they're looking for, but a quality they want in their QB.

I have no idea if Brady could scramble and run well (don't recall seeing the highlights), but Browne's highlights show quite a bit of his running ability. Thus, I would assume if Allen and Browne were close with respect to their throwing ability, Browne would get the nod over Allen due to his running abilities.

Or because he’s not an air raid QB IU fan

I think it's a shame Kenrich hit the portal, thought he was a good prospect, grew up a Purdue fan, and we need TE's
If Walters told him it was best to hit the portal it’s for the best. Walters will be absolutely outstanding. Best coach since mollenkopf if we can keep him

I’m wait and see here.

I do think it will generally work out but there will likely be hiccups (when are there not as a Purdue fan) and I do think it will take some time to hit full stride.

Next year is the true tell IMO with no Michigan or OSU on the schedule again

Come on.. surely you must see the greatness. Good enough to have the number 3 defense with a bunch of 5.5s at Illinois. Yet smart enough not to use bielemas offensive ideas when he got his own job..

I think Harrell was a bad hire if you’re usc.. you don’t need to run the air raid. You get the best most physical players
Agree. That said, WVU fans seem to think they had a decent QB prospect but that Harrell didn’t do much to help or develop him. He’ll be helped here by Mockobee big time though.

I think the offense holds us back this year from being really good but the D will lead us to a 7 win season.

If the O is good, Could see us dropping only 2-3 games even with the East’s big boys on the schedule

But let me ask you this.. don’t the good QBs kinda have it? Drew Brees was kinda drew Brees beginning of sophomore year. Aiden Oconnell brought Purdue back from the dead two of the first three times he appeared in games. If Hudson card is good, we will be. If he’s not, I don’t know how Harrell is gonna fix that. Or why that should be put on him..

I noticed we don't have a dedicated qb coach. Is that Harrell by default?

As a complete side note, I see we have an admin asst named Foxy LaFon. Seems like one of those names out of a Austin Powers movie. I like it.

The view was clear in B'ton that day

Brohm deserves kudos for quickly reversing Hazel’s catastrophic tenure on Purdue football, BUT

I’m still waiting for the first Brohm- recruited QB who was worth a damn…

He recruited O'Connell. Convinced him to decommit from Wheaton and take a PWO spot at Purdue. He didn't offer AOC a scholarship out of high school, but he recruited him.
Fair enough …
Perhaps Louisville is enamored with the chance that some afterthought fourth- stringer will once Again outplay all other of the “offensive genius’s” recruits .

Maybe I expected too much, but IMO Brohm’s QB recruiting was alarmingly underwhelming when you consider how innovative and fun the offense was to watch…

You sound like a bitter bitch…give props to the previous staff to finding a NFL Diamond in the rough vs a guy who go never contributed.

Plummer is a bum. Brady Allen seems like one too.

Give credit to the process Card seemingly has made until he doesn’t deserve it. Until then, you are just working against progress the staff has made. Grow up

There are guys that never lived up to the hype, but that’s football. You take a QB every year, but ideally one guy locks up the job for 2-3 years. Sindelar, Blough, and O’Connell were the guys during Brohm’s time at Purdue, and they did a good job.

I think Plummer and Allen are at Louisville because they already know Brohm’s offense, which apparently takes time to master. If you can have a good QB run 100% of your playbook or a great QB run 40% of your playbook, I can understand why option 1 is appealing.
