Better...

Echoing every one else's sentiments. I was at the game for the first half and I left more disgusted than any loss before. There is just no substance to what Hazell is selling.

Personally I think another coach could improve this team to mediocre to competitive in losses.

While talent needs improved a few players are playing well.

But I remember when Tiller came in he moved players to positions that they became better at.

I never said the team was good...just playing more to its potential.

If you don't recognize the improvement you aren't watching.

Would have been interesting to see what happened if Bennie played the whole game. Team is no bueno.

The only thing I recognize is that we actually tried to push the ball down field. Qb play was still meh forcing it to the first check down when you have single covered wide out. Too many screens not enough 2 step drop slants.

Or defense spent the 2 quarter not stopping third and long. At best we improved into a Danny hope level team.

EKU is ranked 27th in the FCS. They're no slouch and I'm not convinced the 2014 team could've beat them.

For me the proof in our improvement (or lack thereof) will be the next two weeks. I think we have a better than average shot at being undefeated going into the B1G. And that would unquestionably be improvement...

Mauk is a very talented quarterback who actually got the start, and was handled. Looks like they prepared for the right quarterback. Bennie was probably a surprise. He was great today, accurate, decisive, efficient. Too bad he got hurt, hopefully he'll be okay moving forward.

Bennie played in the fbs before transferring. Much better passer

I don't remember Mauk being that poor a thrower.

He was considered an NFL level talent before the drugs got him.

He looks a solid 25 pounds fatter than when he was at Mizzou.

Mauk? Agree.

It kind of reminded me of when tiller put kirsch in the Utah spread. Bad fit. Mauk was a scrambler, not a running qb

Vegas would greatly disagree with you

Glad we won, but we'll struggle on D all year. Can't stop the run, can't generate a pass rush. The offense may be improved. As long as Maline remembers to give the ball to Jones. He seemed to forget that in the 2nd quarter yesterday.
