Really think it is time to shake it up and let Eastern, Taylor, Ewing get more minutes. If Wheeler really wants to play, pull the redshirt and see if he can grab a timely rebound and get stops on D.
There will definitely be some ugly play early, but if the light comes on for even one of these guys at some point in season to use their athleticism to rebound and defend at a high level this is instantly a better team.
If they flop, at least you tried to make the team better. However, if they improve we become much more dangerous at the end of the year.
I don't see how weaknesses this core group has of rebounding and defense will be improved by coaching and playing harder. They have a ceiling, and it's time to see if guys at end of bench can step up and help.
