We are trying to make sure all our current 2019 verbals are solid with us going into the early signing period, which they appear to be. Is trying to get Bell and Williams to sign it for the 2019 class or are we going after any other last minute targets?

I know we don’t have many more spots available in the 2019 class, but I think we have 4 (?) early enrollees, so I was not sure if that gives us the opportunity for anyone else besides Bell and Williams.

IMHO, if we had room for Williams, he would already be in the fold. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t commit to IU.

I think the concern is that if he struggles that much with his grades in high school, what is the likelihood that he will remain eligible for his entire college career?
He goes to a highly-regarded private HS (Andrean). How is it that he can stay eligible there if he was that bad of a student?

Perhaps he would just prefer to play for Indiana. Or is that just not even a remote possibilty?

I think IU has more flexibility to take him seeing as how they have a lot more scholarship space. And maybe admission standards are easier there?

Agree. I hate the "we have higher academic standards" crap. Notre shame tries to pull that crap all the time. I hope he's a Boiler but most of all, I hope he uses his ability to get a college degree somewhere and doesn't lose eligibility after a year or two.

If you have a problem with what I said, take it up with Brian. It's what he said. Sorry for stating facts.

Yeah, but we actually do require more math and science for admission. That’s a thing.

Bell, imho, is simply giving IU a courtesy visit this weekend. No way would he consider playing for IU with Debord as OC, even though he probably would rather attend IU if football wasn't in his future.

If he wasn't playing football and is serious about his academics then he would most certainly want to attend Purdue. Now if he is more interested in getting drunk and doing drugs with a bunch of rednecks from Monroe county and/or rich kids from the east coast not smart enough to get into their first 5 choices along the eastern seaboard, then yes you are correct - he would definitely want to attend iu.

Try objectivity...it's refreshing.

I'd love to hear what you think Purdue students do in their free time.
