This is wild especially considering they just got a commitment from Jalen Wilson a top 50 kid for 2019.
Hmm if he gets it maybe Johns, Castleton or Wilson open back up their recruitment.
I think he may be trying to get a raise. I can't imagine him actually leaving Michigan.
At his age. I would do it. They say pro game is less taxing.
At the end of the day, Michigan will always be a football school for some reason. Beilein leaving would be a shock, but I wouldn’t necessarily count it out. Plus, if Detroit really wants him, they can throw a large bag of money at him that Michigan wouldn’t be able to match right?
Really amazing turnaround for him at UM when you think back to his first 2-3 years and how they struggled to win or recruit very well and was fairly close to getting his walking papers.
There's a GM to do the recruiting and a GM to do the negotiations and .... well, let's just assume that all a Pro coach does is ... wait for it ... coach.

Belein has shown his system is very workable for mobile bigs and likely would translate well to be NBA of today.
This smells a lot like the Painter/Missouri thing. He probably doesn’t want to leave UM but wants to send a message that they need to pony up the big bucks to keep him.
So if Beilein leaves for the NBA instead of Izzo the B1G loses some class but keeps an ass.
