Bane SC Top 10 #1

Wow! Impressive - I like it!!!!

Now for fear of being the buzzkill, how is that not a charge? Still awesome tho
By rule you can't take a charge that far under the basket. One of the few times you will see high school refs get a block/charge call right.

Tonight's #1 Top play with dunk!!
With the Weatherford transfer decision, I am guessing that Purdue offers Bane, soon. I've never seen him play, but it sounds like the staff has been recruiting him pretty hard.

According to MaxPreps, he hit 54 out of 100 three point attempts this season, which is a very encouraging stat. I'm curious about his lateral quickness and ball handling, however.

On that note, does anyone have opinions on the strengths/weaknesses of this kid? Must be reasons why big schools have yet to offer.

Has anyone seen him play?

I have seen him play 2 times, good ball handler, looked to be a good shooter, can drive to the basket, good hands, plays point on offense, good passer

It's hard to evaluate him because he plays against such weak competition.

During the high school season that is the case but didn't he play really well in AAU last summer?
He had a good performance in the Indiana Top 80 last summer, but he played for a lesser AAU team in Indiana. It just seems like not a lot of people have a solid gauge on him. Even the guys at GBI.

size wise he reminds me some of D J Newbill. What is not apparent in the videos and would be my concern is his quickness. Now, if you go undersized at the 3 then maybe, but he also may be quicker than I imagine. If I thought he was quick enough...he probably is worth it. One thing is obvious...nothing is obvious or he wouldn't be so open at this time

I posted this because I happened to catch it on SC last night. I have never seen him play or talked to anyone that has.

With that disclaimer, I will say this: There are always kids that go under the radar or are lightly recruited for various reasons (step slow, little too short, questionable academics, character red flags, ......) sometimes these prove to be correct and the kid never is "heard" from again. Other times they "blossom" into real D1 talent and you see them play against your team and you say "why is he playing at X school instead of a big time program"?

With the scholarships we have available CMP may be in a position to take a flyer on someone that fits this category. The downside is if the kid never develops you "waste" a scholarship and get the inevitable questions of why you offered this kid in the first place. If they do develop you look like a genius. One of the reasons coaches make the money they do is to be able to figure out which way to go!

I am sure he is every bit as quick as Cline & Mathias
as I said,I'm not sure. That doesn't mean he isn't as quick, just that I cannot tell...I don't know. Cline played some point in his high school career against big schools and was able to get to the basket in high school even if not in college...not sure about Dakota.

Sounds like the best shooter in the midwest so you know Painter will go after him!!!
