Purdue's last 3 games have been 3 of their 4 worst defensive performances in conference games (based on PPP). The least 3 games have also had 3 of 5 worst free throw rates in conference play. I put the defensive issues on the guards and forwards not bigs.
Similar to the non-conference, recently guards are helping on dribble penetration, leaving 3 point shooters to do so, when AJ or Haas is in good position to defend dribble penetration. The other issue is perimeter players are grabbing or hand checking when they get beat. Too many early second half fouls have put opponents on the line early in the half.
Hopefully we see a better defensive effort on Saturday and into the tournament.
