Thanks guys. My wife and I enjoy going to games and it will be fun taking my son one day. Babies are a gift.

At 2pm today we had our first child. A healthy baby boy. I'm looking forward to watching Purdue games together. Another generation is born. Boiler up.

Congratulations! My "baby" is 18 now. The best moment of my life was seeing her born, followed by even better ones being part of her growing up.

There have also been wrenching moments, and they're not over. It's been worth it for me, and then some.

Enjoy being a Dad!

Congrats. Hopefully someday I have a family of own to pass on the Boilermaker fandom on to (even though I won't be going to Purdue).

Yup... you never stop worrying about them.

One of the most traumatic days of my life occurred last August. Dropping her off at Purdue and driving away. I'm man enough to admit, the tears wouldn't stop. Was in almost a state of depression for the better part of a week. It takes awhile to adjust.

Bottom line: It's amazing how attached you get to them. Not a d@mn thing I wouldn't do for her.

As many on this board know, I was able to take my boys to their first Boilermaker sporting event earlier in the basketball season. Was able to cross off one of my bucket list items by doing that....next for sporting event bucket list items with my sons: The Indy 500!

Summy, congrats on your newest addition and a speedy recovery for your wife! Enjoy everything, even the 2am wake-ups...because at some point, they'll be too big to rock to sleep and hold in the middle of the night.

Thanks man, I bet it was a blast for You? I can't wait to do that myself. Yes, lack of sleep does suck but he is worth it.

Having a baby is the best and both daughters went to Purdue for their Bachelor's and Master's and loved every minute of it. An equally and in some ways better experience was when our grandkids were born. That is pure joy.

Why is that? So you can spoil them and then have parents take them home?

Maybe a little but love to take them fishing and my grandson said one of his favorite times is watching fishing with grandpa. They also love it when I come because grandma comes with me.
