B1G West - It’s wide open

NEB - loss
NW - bad loss (to a supposedly bad MSU)
MINN - loss (and lost best RB/O player Ibrahim for the year)
ILL - still sucks

Let’s. Play. Football.

BU > HD > HP!

Minny will still be a tough team to beat. They have a very good offensive line that held up pretty well to a VERY GOOD OSU defensive line. Even without Ibrahim, I'm sure they'll run the ball very well.

And after watching Illinois, I'm not sure they suck as bad as you think.

I don't see anywhere near the vision, balance, and power out of Minny's other backs. Potts I think is the main backup and he wasn't nearly as effective. The line will still open holes but their won't be anywhere near as many extra yards gained because Ibrahim was so dang hard to take down.

Bottom line is that NEB, NW, and MINN took steps back this first go round all while ILL is tippy toeing forward. We will see what IOWA and WISC are made of early. Big Ten West is WIDE open!

With Belima at IL, I’m not sure they suck as bad as they used to. They’ll run, run and run some more. PU hasn’t been very stout against the run lately.

The pecking order is still Wisconsin followed by Iowa at the very top. Every other team has a chance at 3rd. Wisconsin will be good on defense and have a strong running game. Iowa the same but to a lesser extent.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple of teams give them both a good game, but those two are still the teams to beat.

No argument on Potts vs Ibrahim. But he may also improve as he gets some additional carries.

So far today, tied for #2 with Iowa and Wisconsin. Too bad we can't move into at least a tie for #1.

Minnesota lost but looked better than I thought they would and Faalele is going to be a problem for a lot of teams..

Wisconsin has been frustrating so far vs. Penn State with two red zone self destructs.

What do you make of the PSU offense? It has really struggled so far today. Is the Wisky defense that good?

their O looks terrible but dome credit to Wisky's D Their could be adjusting to a new OC maybe. I rhink wisky is going to pay for those missed opportunities.

Wisconsin has a very strong and active defense. They are normally good against the run and pressure the QB. I would like to see our own defense be as active as theirs. They are often not the biggest D but they get after you.

As I write this, they just blew a coverage and allowed and easy score...

very nice response by wisky's O.

Badgers finally score and tie it up @ 7-7, midway through the third Q. Typical grinder in Madison....We'll see if the two failed red zone chances in the first half make a difference in the outcome. These two defenses can cause some problems.

Nittany Lions return the favor.....WIDE right from 24 yards out.....wow.
Love it ! that safety Nelson is a liability for wisky

Agree with Illinois comment. -4.5 today is easy money.

playing wisky, make the qb beat you and you have a chance, the first half miscues came back to haunt them.
Wisky had the ballgame. First and goal from the 3 and Mertz botches a handoff. Then throws an INT... Wisky lost because Mertz was just plain bad.

I've seen bad QB play. But Mertz is as bad as I've seen. Overshot numerous big throws. Two intentional groundings. Bumbled handoff on the 3 yard line. INT on the goal line. Wow.

I would advise Chryst to play his 2nd string next week.

He probably practices throwing over Nelson in practice and thinks he's really a great QB.

If Iowa loses, we'll have sole possession of #2 in the Big 10 West, and imagine Illinois having sole possession of #1! And that's without Purdue playing a game, whether we win or lose.
