B1G Officiating

Seriously....is it time that we talk about this yet? What is the conference doing about what is CLEARLY the worst officiating in the country?

Missed horse collar.
TWO Phantom holds on a key drive.
Defensive Pass Interference on a prayer that was overthrown and uncatchable by about 3 feet...which was clearly Offensive PI as much as it was Defensive PI.

This is happening throughout the conference. How are they addressing this? We deserve to know. Games should be decided by players making plays. Not hypothetical decisions by the refs. Purdue DID NOT WIN THAT GAME.

Well we won it more than Iowa did.

Kinda like the 30 yards the officials gifted the Hawkeyes before the half??

Watch a replay. You did NOT deserve to win that game. Phantom PI put you in FG range. Such garbage and YOU KNOW IT.
Look, Chief, as a Purdue and Cleveland Browns fan I'm about 800 "bad calls" in the hole. So if you want to chalk it up to that you go right the f*ck ahead. I'll be over here drinking a Christmas Ale and enjoying our victory. And a 10 gallon bucket of your tears isn't going to change my attitude or the outcome of the game. So knock yourself out. Just know every time I see you post I'm gonna take another sip of sweet victory beer.

Cheers!

I think the reason the horse collar wasn't enforced was it appeared the jersey was pulled and not the inside of the shoulder pads.

We'll let those go if they would have called all the holds that your Oline had.

I'm with ChiHawk21.

We didn't deserve to win this game.

Let's go back an replay EVERY friggin' game in the history of mankind to determine which team SHOULD have won each game.

Yeah.

Let's do it.

Just because.

"After further review, Purdue's victory is confirmed."

Clean the sh$t out of your drawers you fool..that’s like saying we did not lose two of our first 3 games because the B10 appologized for blowing calls that went against us

The horse collar was irrelevant you scored a TD on that drive.
The PI probably was too we had two more plays to get 10 yards without the call to put us close enough where our kicker has made all but one kick this season. But the hold cal was also close.
I think the worst two calls of the entire game was the 30 yards Iowa got before the half which were absolute BS. Iowa has no room to complain. Our assistant would have gotten a sideline warning. I couldn’t believe when Iowa’s assistant was much more obnoxious on the missed 2 point conversion and did not get an equalizer penalty.

Isn’t it harvest season? You should be in a combine instead of complaining about a game you should’ve lost by 15.

Iowa gave up 4 passing TDs, including an 82 yarder. We beat Iowa, not the refs. That play in the endzone was definitely PI. The DB had a handful of jersey for at least 5 yards and he tried to faceguard the WR. He never even tried to make a play on the ball. It was an obvious call.

I clearly saw holding on one of the two plays you referenced. Not phantom.

Get used to Brohm owning Iowa.

Great game Boilermakers. We had our chances and did not take advantage as the Boilermakers did. You can pick any game and fine issues with the refs.
They did not cause us to not win.

You deserved the win as you hit the big plays as your coach said before the game was needed to win.

Good Luck the rest of the season!

I didn't get why the horse collar wasn't called, but it was a 2 yard difference, on a drive that Iowa got a touchdown on anyway. So that is completely irrelevant. The PI in the end zone was absolutely the right call. The DB had a hold of Zico's right shoulder the whole time. Holding happens on just about every play. But they can't call it on every play so it seems inconsistent.

OTOH, the fair catch interference was BS. Basically the returner played a trick to try to bait 83 into the contact with the late fair catch signal. That combined with the minor contact anyway should have led to them picking up the flag. They also tried to bait Catlett earlier by pushing him into the punt that was rolling dead. What a cheap-shot team. That's not how you should be trying to win football games.

Quit whining. Iowa held on 20 Running plays, blocked in the back on 5-6 kick returns, and got a 30 yard gift that led to a TD. We know about getting screwed by the refs, did you see the Mizzou or NW games??

From someone who attended college in Wisconsin, we have a special name for people from Iowa. ‘Idiots Out Wandering Around’.
Yes there is a reason to complain about the officiating in that game, it from both sides. As a Purdue fan some of those BS calls like the kick catch interference was such a joke. You could actually see how the pretty player started to slow down but then sped back up because the fair catch wasn’t called right away. There should have been a penalty called on that and I should’ve been on the return man. Of course there were several holes not called both ways, those are so judge mental anymore who knows.

When it happened live I thought we might have got away with one on the PI call but when I got home and watched the replay a few times I think the officials had to throw that flag, the Iowa DB had a grab of him the whole time that ball was in the air
