B1G football recruiting rankings

According to Rivals the top three commits are wide outs followed by a early enrollee QB who Michigan (among others) tried to poach.

Add the four/five OL and the offense could quickly get to what Brohm wants

Looking at the rankings, the addition of Jack could flip IU and Purdue. His addition is a lot higher than our average.

That shows how Tom Allen impressed people last year.
Ehhh, I think a lot of it could end up being Tom Crean-ish. He is a lot of emotion and smoke and if the success doesn't follow, it'll be hard for him land consistent talent. He has a bit of Dabo Sweeney to him (I'm in no way saying he will have anywhere near the success of Sweeney) in his enthusiasm which annoys opposing fans...but that schtick can get old really quickly if he isn't successful.

So the exponent ripped rankings from some dude in Nebraska?

Let me start by saying that I've been amazed at what Brohm has been able to do in the past year to turn Purdue around -- I think that we are on the right course now.

With that said, looking at the team recruiting rankings (on rivals), it is astounding how far we need to go in order to get on a more even playing field as the rest of the conference. Being 11th out of 14 teams in recruiting every year will not get us where we want to be.

However, 2019 is looking great so far -- hopefully we can start to add more 4 stars so we can catch up to the big boys.

If the coaches come up with a good defense this year, that will be the key to a good season. Losing some key players and replacing them with young players with little or no experience. Offense should be ok , then again a lot of players had surgery, hope they all come thru it in good shape.

Agree with you on this. I hope our QB's return to form. It seems like the WR position is up for grabs and the young studs will have their chance to grab minutes if they prove themselves this spring. Overall I am not that concerned with where we will be offensively. It is the defense that has me the most concerned. I think we are going to need to put up more points to win this coming season.

Future recruiting will help with this. Karlaftis is a great start to the 2019 recruiting class and it sounds as if the coaching staff is working hard on the best in the mid west for 2019. With the positive buzz surrounding coach Brohm and the program, I believe we will see improvement in the 2019 recruiting class. I feel like our program is on the right track.
