Purdue actually had the lowest overall team 247 composite ranking in the B10 for the last three years but have performed above their ranking.
While Purdue has low talent scores relative to number of wins the best teams in the Big have very high talent scores relative to the number and of wins. I think this metric works like that because those teams that are best have highly ranked players all over their 2 and 3 deeps. That really elevates your talent score but theirs only so many wins you can have, even if you never lose.
I have never understood why so many 5 star and 4 star players sign up for so few teams and sit on the bench every Saturday when they could be starters elsewhere.
I think in a couple more seasons our chart will look like Wisconsin’s. Not the best but very good talent but still over achieving.

Surprised Maryland is the 4th most talented team. Knew they had decent talent but that's surprising.

I reached the same conclusion as you. And that’s why this metric is kind of meaningless. What matters are wins, not “wins per talent”. Seems like it was created so that some relatively poor fan base could feel better about themselves.

Talent is undeniably correlated with wins. I would have much preferred to see that graph. Who would have been the outliers then?
